I know the obvious answer is if you want to SI then you should reach out to someone, but if you're uncomfortable with that, especially with your grandparents, you could try some substitute that will still give you a distracting sensation. For example, you could maybe keep a rubber band with you and use that as a milder form; it's not illegal to take on a bus, it doesn't cause tissue damage, and it can give a little sting. Sometimes, I just go to the bathroom and let ice cold water run on my wrist; it does no damage, and it's kinda soothing (to me anyway). Another thing you can do is eat something spicy like wasabi cashews or hot fries; this way, you get a sensation that is distracting, not dangerous, and completely guilt free because no one will think you're weird for bringing a snack.
