Read and Unread Posts

I've just posted in a thread, but because I was quoting someone, I didn't read the whole thread. (but when replying did read the rest of the thread, just to check that I wasn't repeating something someone said) I've just gone into that forum and it's come up as 'unread'. Why?

Hmmm, this happened to me in the Grief and Trauma Forum. I found that if I marked the whole Forum read, this sorted the problem.

Other people will probably be able to help by mentioning cookies [but I don't know what they are].

Cookie are something (I think) related to being logged in 24/7 or something.

Grief and Trauma Support. It's a sub-forum of Mental Health Discussion and Support. :)

It may have something to do with cookies.
"HTTP cookies, sometimes known as web cookies or just cookies, are parcels of text sent by a server to a web browser and then sent back unchanged by the browser each time it accesses that server. HTTP cookies are used for authenticating, tracking, and maintaining specific information about users, such as site preferences and the contents of their electronic shopping carts."

Not entirely sure what you should do to sort it out but I'm pretty sure cookies play a part! (Yum, cookies.)
