General Medical Question - Non Urgent - Scratch on my eye.
Basically I was wearing my contact lenses out for the first time last night at a family party, got very drunk and ended up trying to dance like Beyonce with my cousin. She ended up accidentally smacking me in the face and I think her nail must have caught my eye because it's been really sore on the inside of my left eye ever since.
I've tried to have a look but I can't see it without looking to the right and then it's quite an obscured view of the painful area. My parents have said it looks quite red so I don't know if it's a scratch or..what. Will go to the doctors if the trouble persists, just wanted to know if anyone could shed some light and perhaps tell me how long it would take to heal up, if I can do anything to speed up the healing process? etc. etc.
Shame I wasn't wearing my glasses, they could have shielded me from this pain :(

I'm gonna tap him like a maple tree. I'm gonna search him for some syrups. I'm gonna be having sex with him.

if you scratched the cornea you need to get it checked. i knew a girl that did this and they put some drops in her eye and had her wear sunglasses for like a day.

If you think it is a scratch to it then DON'T use eye creams that contain steroids and I would get it checked out. The fact that you're wearing contacts does increase the likelihood.
These can take varying times to heal from a few days to weeks depending on the severity and also how well your body is healing them but it does need to get checked out. I would also advise you not to wear contact lenses until it has been fully checked out and you know what is going on.

Oh, Nic. I kind of love you for this.
But I really hope your eye feels better soon. Wear your glasses and just try and take it easy (no performing brain surgeries or anything...) Eyes are horrible when they're sore D:

Now I'll play your ghost as my ace, whenever I'm led astray.
But I am actually good, can't help it if we're tilted.
I'm in my right place, don't be a downer.

Hey guys, thanks for the replies :) The pain has reduced significantly and it seems okay, so I doubt it was a scratch, just a bit sore and red for a few days. Of course, if it flares up again, I'll go straight to the doctors, I just need to learn that Beyonce is bad for you D:
