to those saying the post count thing is silly, may i ask why it is silly? Is it silly because it personally inconveniences you? or because it is an extra safeguard for everyone else?

It's silly because some of us don't post that often because we don't have things to say. I was on v2 from the time it opened until it closed and I had about 1,000 posts. I'd rather not have to post useless replies to have the option of going on the other boards. If members are concerned, they shouldn't post their pictures. Anyone can make 25 posts about nothing to see it's not all that much of a protector.

1,000 is 975 posts more then necessary to see a few pictures. This is a website full of young and vulnerable people and the safer Harley can make it the better. I seriously think there are more important things to life then spamming to be able to see the picture board.

If the posts aren't moved over because there are issues with the v2 then people aren't going to be able to see them no matter how many posts they had. I was using it as an example of time, not for post count.
If people are that concerned about people seeing their pictures they shouldn't post. Anyone can spam 25 posts to make it so they can see the picture board.

well, im terribly sorry that it inconveniences you, but im afraid at the end of the day its the safety of majority thats going to overrule. and it may be quite possible to get around the post count thing, but it would take effort and its sure to weed out alot of potential trouble.
try to see it for what it is. its not there ot rouble you, its there to try to protect others. isnt that more important then you being a bit irritated?
Because of the new security features involving IP addresses and such the 25 posts help more then you might think. 25 posts really isn't that many to someone who is an active participant in the forums.

I'm not seeing how it's really putting up a wall which is that safe. People can lie easily in 25 posts, and I don't doubt I could make 25 posts and make it so no one really knows anything about me which would mean the bods wouldn't have a reason to block me.

Because no matter what you post in those 25 posts the mods can see your IP address and tell where you are, and make sure that you are not a banned member, or someone who is using mutiple accounts for illegitimate reasons. It really does make things safer for EVERYONE involved, and that is what matters.
25 posts really isn't that many, especially when there are about 15 boards that you can contribute to RYL on. You keep making references to not making random/unnecessary/useless posts, but really I think that attitude is unnecessary. Supportive, helpful, or caring replies are never useless.
