I am not a very religous person (at all) but sometimes christian music can be very nice. But I find that most bands its just too in your face, if you know what I mean. But personally Sufjan Stevens and Flyleaf I really like/love. Apart from that I either havn't heard, or didn't like and therefore don't remember.

All you have to do is listen to For The Widows In Paradise And The Fatherless In Ypsilanti by Sufjan and I'm sure you will be transfixed. It's just so beautiful.

Flyleaf are amazing... but i wouldn't really consider them a Christian band...
Just because the singers are Christian doesn't make it 'Christian music'

mmmm... i agree that just because the artists are christians it does ot make them a christian band.. But I would definitely say Flyleaf is a christian band, because they have christian lyrics! [amy says, cassie, all around me,suffocating......... ][the list goes on!]

I'm verrry excited, cause I get to see Mark Schultz tomorrow! Yay!

God Bless

“The good things don’t always soften the bad, but vice-versa, the bad things don’t necessarily spoil the good things and make them unimportant.”
“Nobody important? Blimey, that’s amazing. Do you know, in nine hundred years of time and space I’ve never met anyone who wasn’t important before.”
“If it’s time to go, remember what you’re leaving. Remember the best. My friends have always been the best of me.”

I don't know if it's "christian music" - actually I do, it isn't. But Martyn Jospeh is a welsh left-wing-ish christian (what a description) and I've seen him loads and he's awesome. He has a fantastic song about Jesus called "He never said" unfortunatly for me I can find no where to C&P them online as he's not that well known (um... at all) so I'm going to type them all up - be grateful! haha

He never said - Martyn Joseph

He never said, God helps those who help themselves
He never said, Blessed are the rich (Life's a bitch)
He never said, I do unto others - before they do it unto you (Like they're gonna do)
He never said, it's too bad buddy - but the winner has to take it all

He never said, sucsess is the key - you gotta be cruel to be kind
He never said, it's a jungle out there - where the weak must get left behind

No, he said
Answer a strangers cry for help,
Love your brother as you love yourself,
You only need to seek and you will find,
Forgive your enemy and drop that grudge,
Don't judge others and you wont be judged,
Only knock and the door will open wide - open wide

He never said, Archbishops should stick to theology (Leave all those big issues alone chaps!)
and I never read, put your faith in the lottery (all those little balls...)
and he never said - by any means nessersairy (Oh no)
and I don't recall, my country right or wrong, wrong, wrong
He never said - "send your money to me, touch the screen and you're gonna be healed",
and he never said "every mans got a price... right? So do you want to make a deal?"

No he said,
Answer a strangers cry for help,
Love your brother as you love yourself,
You only need to seek and you will find,
Forgive your enemy and drop that grudge,
Don't judge others and you wont be judged,
Only knock and the door will open wide - open wide

and on that day - the day that's comming (cause I got a dream)
Who's gonna be walking, yeah? And who's gonna be running, running, running
'cause the first will be last, and so the last will come first,
and the meak will inherit the earth

and he said,
Answer a strangers cry for help,
Love your brother as you love yourself,
You only need to seek and you will find,
Forgive your enemy and drop that grudge,
Don't judge others and you wont be judged,
Only knock and the door will open wide - open wide

Answer a strangers cry for help,
Love your brother as you love yourself,
You only need to seek and you will find,
Forgive your enemy and drop that grudge,
Don't judge others and you wont be judged,
Only knock and the door will open wide - open wide

He never said,
Every little thing is gonna ba alright

Sorry for any errors :) He's great on cd, and AMAZING live.

I'm an atheist myself, but I think alot of christian music is quite tuneful.

Aren't Evanescense christian music? The lyrics of Tourniquet etc would suggest so.

Well, Mark Schultz came to Sulphur Springs [a tiny middly of nowhere town near here] and the tickets were really cheap, and he's my sunday school teacher's favorite singer ever

The others were all at the Revolve tour [the women-of-faith event for teen girls]
And Max Lucado [& his daughter Jenna] spoke there!

Haste the Day[Metalcore] and Becoming The Archetype[Death Metal] are the only Christian bands i can stand mainly because their lyrics are not over preachy since i am not religious in anyway.

Honourable mentions... Flyleaf[Nu-Metal], Thousand Foot Krutch[Hard Rock]

Evanescence is not christian. Although I agree some of their lyrics hint to it, but alas they are not.

Rock on!
Haste the Day is one of my new favourite bands, I know they aren't new but they are new to me. Haste the Day and Becoming the Archetype were both at Ichthus uprising, at least I think so. I know that Haste the Day was there, but I was watching a different band I wanted to see when they came on.

Flyleaf and Thousand Foot Krutch were at Icthus as well. Thousand Foot Krutch, I was at that concert

Evanescence claim to be "christians" but their music is definately not.

My favourite artists are the ones that play at soul survivor- Tim Hughes, Matt Redman, Lex Buckley.

[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YWMiX0mgrM4"]Tim Hughes- Beautiful one.[/ame]

Isn’t it funny how day by day nothing changes but when you look back, everything is different…
