Some people are blind, but there are still 2D films. :D

But if what you're saying is 2D films will cease to be made because of 3D films, then yes I agree. :)

FINALLY!

Everyone in my town is in love with 3-D and basically drools when a new movie comes out in 3-D. It makes me want to gather up every 3-D movie reel and burn them in a large fire, and then dance upon the ashes.

I liked Avatar in 3-D but that was unique film visually. Theaters have done this kind of thing before. When TV started to spread in 50s and 60s studios turned out big spectacle films (Cleopatra, Ben Hur etc) in 70 mm (instead of 35mm) under names like Cinemascope and Panavision (they used an anamorphic lens to make movies really wine and big).

Now that people have big HD TVs and Blu-ray disks at home theaters want to sell the big image again. Alas TV's are doing 3D as well now.

3D is so gimmicky! It actually makes me want to see a movie LESS if I know it's in 3D. It's like, can't you just make a movie that's good instead of relying on some stupid trick to get people to see it? Case in point: My Bloody Valentine 3D. The only thing good about it was that the 3D effects were so corny, they made me laugh.

The only good thing I saw in 3D was The Birds at the Alfred Hitchcock theater in Universal Studios like ten years ago. And only then because birds were flying out of the screen and people were screaming and dodging like they were really going to get hit and it was hysterical to watch.

I watched 'Alice in wonderland' in 3d and enjoyed it but during the week watched Saw 3D and thought it was rubbish, it just looked 'normal' which infact I took the glasses off and most of it was 'normal' but there were little bits that were 3d. I don't mind if they make a choice but bringing every film out in 3D is just going to drive me mad. ( though some would argue i'm already mad)

Completely agreed. I've only seen one film in 3D, and to be honest if I'd thought ahead I'd have put my contact lenses in. But I didn't, so it was silly.

But I can tell you've been through hell...

I've never been able to see 3D. The glasses don't work, the movie looks the same. It's the same with my step father, but he's partially blind, the glasses aren't meant to work on him. I don't know why they don't work on me.

I watched Alice In Wonderland in 3D.
It looked better when I took the glasses off.

I can't watch 3D. I get headaches and migraine. I can watch about 10 minutes, then i have to give up.

I don't really get 3D movies. I've seen a couple and they look completely and utterly like normal 2D to me, apart from perhaps a five-second bit where something goes slightly 3D and then goes back to normal. Generally speaking, the trailers beforehand are usually more 3D than the film itself.

It's a nice idea, but until they get the hang of it I don't think it's worth the extra dosh.

I just in general think that 3D films are over-rated. I worked at a cinema and got free tickets and still wouldn't go to see the 3D versions because I preferred that 2D ones. It doesn't particularly enhance the viewing experience and is just a bit of a waste of time in my opinion.
