Please don't be sorry - there's nothing that anyone can do to change things. Feel as though my whole world has fallen apart cos he was so young, full of potential and always willing to please. Just wanted to encourage people to make the most of their animal friends because you never know whats around the corner.

I agree, I lost all my hamsters very suddenly, & it broke me to pieces, I feel as if I need to give my baby Jay Jay a kiss & cuddle every minute of everyday, I'm scared he'll die, so I tell him I love him everytime I hold him. :)

I just wanted to add that I can really understand and feel your loss, because I almost lost my horse when he was 4 and needed surgery.

I lost my first mare in 2007. She was fine when turned out in the morning, having seizures and barely walking by 1pm. Had to put her down. I'd only had her for a bit over a year, too..

My condolences for your loss... I've lost many pets over the years and it breaks my heart every time. Fortunately the joys of having animals far outways the pain at the end.

I don't know what I'd do without my snakes. They keep me sane.

this actually brought tears to my eyes reading that.. i dont know if its because im emotional or whatnot.... my dog is 13 and has to get an operation in 3 weeks time to take an abscess of her eye and to get teeth out, shes not in a high category for operations they say everything should go fine with it regardless of her age but theres always that doubt, i really would not know what to do if id lost her, shes a part of the family and has been for a very long time. her heath is good otherwise, no problems (touch wood) im so sorry about pony. i give my dog hugs all the time. i never used to but now that shes older you never know....im so scared of loosing her and nothing can prepare you for it. people say ohh its just a dog but its not if you have had an animal most of your life... sorry again
