A "Fettler". It was in a steering-wheel factory in Birmingham. I was given a metal file (with no handle), a pair of gardening gloves and told to file off the rough bits from a huge wire container of freshly cast steering wheels. At the time of appointment i had said i wouldnt work in a factory. When the sycophantic agency girl called and told me i would be a "Fettler" i thought it sounded rather grand. ¬.¬
"fettle verb (fettled, fettling) 1pottery to knock or rub excess material off the edges of (a casting or piece of pottery) with fettling tools; to remove visible seams, casting marks, etc"
Hence the term "in fine Fettle"
Needless-to-say i lasted 4 hours and walked out. The steering wheels were all smoothed, but i was not in fine fettle!

Call centre. Calling people up to try and sell them a new kitchen.
Daily abuse 60 times over.
The only highlight was when I came across someone with a celebrity name. During my short time there I spoke to David Cameron, Neil Armstrong, Elizabeth Taylor, Michael Jackson and Audrey Hepburn.
Don't be fooled by my smooth skin. The deepest scars are the ones unseen.

Letting it get to you - You know what that's called? Being alive. Best thing there is. Being alive right now that's all that counts. ~ Doctor Who "The Doctors Wife" 06.November.2011
My current job. I absolutely detest it, and cant wait to quit. I love the people I work with, but the management are tw*ts and the jobs just awful
Sarah: Give me the child.
Jareth: Sarah beware. I have been generous up till now. I can be cruel.
Sarah: Generous? What have you done that's generous?
Jareth: Everything! Everything you have wanted I have done. You asked the child be taken, I took him. You cowered before me, I was frightening. I have reordered time. I have turned the world upside down, and I have done it all for you! I am exhausted from living up to your expectations of me. Isn't that generous?
Probably working in a charity shop. Sounds horrible of me I know...i did quite enjoy the wrok, but the manager was a bitch. I've also worked in my school canteen...getting up at 5.30 to catch a train to school in the middle of winter, to spend an hour and a half preparing food before doing a full day at school. Ouch.

I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships,
in persecutions, in difficulties.
For when I am weak, then I am strong"

My chamber maiding job can be exceedingly boring and repetative beyond all belief and the wage is crap. You know your job is bad when the only highlight of the working day is when there's some slices of toast left over from the guests breakfast that I can have with my mug of tea.
Oh, wow, you worked at Build-A-Bear? That place is so freaky! I mean, knickers for teddies? Really?! After a visit, I used to have to go next door to Ann Summers to regain my equilibrium.
Putting the stuffing in is really disturbing. Not sure a child should see that

In a vet's I was given the job of cleaning out the dead animal freezer! *vomits*
Otherwise it'd be updating engineering diagrams, it was sooooooooooooooo boring, but then to print it off because it was a3, I had to walk across to a different building and up 2 flights of stairs, so it took forever.
Mucking out stables for 8 hours a day and getting £10 at the end of it - Oh how I loved being too young for minimum wage!! Needless to say, although I still work on a yard, I enjoy it much more, get much better pay, and much more benefits.

I can totally understand that, fortunately where I worked there was Ann Summers right across from us.
You think bear knickers is extreme, we had bear wheelchairs.
McDonalds was pretty awful. That was not a good summer. Or working in a fibreglass factory, where for the first couple of days I was never told I had the option to wear protective gloves... that was a painful, soul destroying job.
Wake me up before I change again
Remind me the story that I won't get insane
Tell me why it's always the same
Explain me the reason why I'm so much in pain.
Probably care assistant.
Now i could handle the messy side, if yeh get me lol.
But, i got my arse grabbed by an 84 year old at least once a day.
Dirty old women D: lol
I worked in a barbers/hair dressers for a while once and just swept hair and picked nasty clumps of wet hair out of drains all day which wasn't the best laugh in the world.
I hated my paper round. First I had to put a million leaflets (okay, probably five) into every single paper (and got black hands) and then go and deliver them and there was this house with a wasps nest :( Scary times. And in the winter it was awful and my hands froze.
Volunteering in a charity shop is pretty mind numbing. I lasted two days. I got bored of steam cleaning clothes.
Isn’t it funny how day by day nothing changes but when you look back, everything is different…
you once called your brain a hard drive, well say hello to the virus.
The one I have now. Working in a dirty, cheap, overcrowded shop with two foreign men. One fancies me and the other hates me. Can't understand what they say either. The day just drags soo slow T_T
Take all your chances while you can,
You never know when they'll pass you by.

Working in Spar was pretty bad! Maybe they're not all that bad but this one was. The health and safety was horrendous. I wasn't allowed to use the loo and I wasn't allowed a break to eat. The people I worked with were all friends with eachother but didn't like me very much and found plenty of opportunities to tell me I was doing things wrong just because I hadn't been there as long as they had. It's not a hard job but walking in on your first day to someone who looks about 11 who tells you "there's your uniform, get on with it" and having no idea what I was meant to be doing wasn't fun.
Hmm.. i would say helping/ working at a riding stables near me leading in the freezing cold normally raining for an hour was very hard and it was also hard in the summer in the heat running around the school while leading a pony and making sure the rider didn't fall off. On the plus side when oen of the girls were away i was in charge of a group off teens thiught they were my age i was the one with the most experince ( sp?) So i spent my morning watching them muck out and giving them jobs while i was there with a cup of tea :)
Glad i have my own horse now though rather then working there.
