So if/when I go to the UK and I want a cookie that is not chocolate chip, I would ask for a biscuit, and if I want a biscuit, I would ask for a scone without fruit?
What are all the different types of scones, the only ones I have seen are quite hard. But "scones" here that I like are light and airy.
The light and airy stuff are what we call scones. I just believe that what the US calls a biscuit is like a scone, or hard dumpling, without any fruit in it.
And the type of scone depends what you put in it.
We traditionally put in raisins.
But in Yorkshire we have something called a Fat Rascal. It's like a scone, but it's twice the size a scone normally is. And instead of just raisins it also contains the dried fruit you get in fruit cake. Topped with a glace cherry and served with Jam.
It's delicious.

Yay, finally. I got the education system down, the jam/jelly difference down, and now I am getting bread products down. Why can't we all just use the same terms, the UK terms make more sense.

I love the UK, I may have been born in the US, but that does mean that I have to love it more than any other country. Most of US (besides the Native Americans, Eskimos, and Hawaiians) are just people and children somewhere down the line of people from different countries living together in one country. My roots came from Europe, from England, Ireland, and Germany. My heart is in the UK and I would love to go there at some point.
