This is my first post. I didn't even know that SI had a name or was recognized until I started looking for help with my addiction. I'm learning that it seems to be primarily a teenage problem. I started at 38 and am now 40. Are there others out there my age that I can relate to?

I am not your age but I do know several people in their forties that self harm, some from this site, but a few in real life as well. Its not quite as uncommon as you think.

You should check out the Veteran's Corner! That's where most of the adults hang out, or so I'm told. xD

Don't think that you're weird for self-harming around 40. Like the above said, Vets (Veteran's Corner) is where the adults hang out mainly. Might be worth posting there?

Why you started could never be just a teenage problem. Do you want to talk about why you started/still do it on this thread?

i'm 35, and i started SI-ing a little over a year ago (in high school for a while and then again in my 30's i dealt with an eating disorder also).
