Firstly, sorry if this is in the wrong place, just say so and I shall move it.
Ok now to the point, I want a tattoo (as the title suggests) but I am rather bad at having ideas/drawing/designing one =/ so I was hoping some of you very nice imaginative creative and helpful people might be able to help!
Here is a pic of the kind of thing I would like:
so yer any ideas? maybe with some stars in there? I dno...

Okay. Personally, I think adding stars to the design you posted would make it too busy. Especially on your wrist, it would be better to keep it fairly simple, I think.
Stop thinking about what I want, what he wants, what your parents want. What do you want?
Just playing devil advocate ...If I drew that on a piece of paper and asked you to pay £500 you wouldn't think it was worth it. Yet you'll ink it on yourself forever. That's not to single you out. I don't think most people would pay a lot for the tats they end up getting. As art goes tats are usually pretty pedestrian. Its funny to think about it like that. I also think if people came out in the morning and found the tats on their body painted on their cars by strangers they would be upset lol.
Yeah, probably because it's not their cars that they want to see the picture / words on.
I've got a Salvador Dali poster on my wall, but if someone painted that piece of Art onto my electric guitar for instance, I'd be well.. confused. I don't see your point.

I'd recommend going to a reputable tattoo studio and talking to one of the artists, see if you both can't figure out a design you like, and they would be able to tell you about where best to place it/ ie if it would look better positioned differently, how much detail can go into it etc. But I'd say be 100% sure you want the design before you commit to anything, don't just get it done because you want one, I did that with my first tattoo and regret it now, So yeah, good luck. :)

I hear the term "body art" a lot to describe tats. However I find most tats are not art at all but rather pedestrian tags.
I knew a girl who wanted a butterfly tattoo. Instead of going out and getting the typical generic tattoo she looked through books about butterflies for 3 months and designed her own butterfly using parts of real butterflies she liked. She met with tattoo artist to work out design.
I'm not much for tattoos but this girl ended up with one of nicer ones I saw. It was unique and did impress as more artistic.
I contrast that with people who just stamp any old thing on their skin. Crickets, lady bugs, stars, Chinese symbols nobody understands - these are not body "art" as much as graffiti imo.
I have two tattoos and I love them. But I agree with Isoverity, it is very important that you go to a reputable tattooist and make sure you're 100% sure about the design and where you want it before you get it.
Ick one of my friends who was with her boyfriend for... not very long, not sure how long though, got his name tattooed on her. They split up and now she's having to get it lazered off! Things like that are just... eww to me. And I've seen lots of people with cartoon characters (mainly Pooh) tattoed on them which I really don't like (each to their own though).
So, yeah, make sure you do some research. I spent months looking at designs when I got both of mine and spent a lot of time at the tattoo studio while he drew it out in different ways. Then I went home and thought about each of them before I chose.
Oh and I do like that design. But, like someone else said, I wouldn't put stars on it. There'd be too much going on then.
If you want a music tatto I presume it is because you enjoy/play music yourself.
Perhaps get the one above but with a bar of music from one of your favourite songs. If you go to a good tattoo place they won't let you get something they think is crap. And if you tell them the kind of thing you want they will draw a couple of unique designs for you.
Yeahhh, it's alwyas good to get one that means something to you and I really like makedamnsure's idea of a bar of music from your face song :D
&& like she said a good tattooist will not let you get something crappy. Mines just writing but I'm in love with it. My artist was really good, it was my own design and he had like a quick chat with me about it just to explain why he had to alter it a little and like what it would to the general look and effect of it. He even asked like what the meaning to me was and everything :) && afterwards when me and friend queried the price of it...he explained the entire pricing system to us haha!
Sorry that was a little off topic. Basically get one that you really love that means summit to you and go to an artist with a good reputation!
"And just like the movies, we play out our last scene. You won't cry, I won't scream."
"There's just chaos, and violence, and random unpredictable evil that comes out of no where. && rips you to shreads."
Iv had some variation of this on my wrist in eye liner on and off for over a year now and have had alot of positive reactions to it and I figure I like music and it's my body surly the one thing in the world I can actually do anything I want to??
I did think of having the first notes of a certain song but I have no idea how I would find out what the notes are as I can't read or write music??
