I hate the NHS it sucks!
I know not everyone has bad experiences but In my experience they've been completely incompetent. Constantly missing appointments, leaving me sitting for an hour on several occasions for an appointment after already being there half an hour early.
The Psychologist was a complete slob feet up talking about his wife trying to be my friend and spend very little time on why I was there. He hadn't even read my file properly so I had to sit while he read on a rather important part he decided to skip.
Also whats with the leading questions? I had one doctor reading back stuff another had wrote that I had said which was totally untrue. She could have just done everything without me if she'd already made up my mind.
They don't have a clue! after the first interview she thought I was uninterested.. I'm sorry if I'm a bit closed the first time I meat you... your asking me very personal questions I don't know you and you let a medical student sit in to without asking me!
I feel almost as if they are trying to put me off!
Sounds like you have had some really terrible experiences with the NHS. You are entitled to this help; keep at it.
I am a student nurse, so I am kinda working with the NHS at the moment. And I have seen so many people waiting for appointments for ridiculous amounts of time and being spoken down to by the doctors. The only thing I can say is, complain. Let their managers know about it, it will show them where they are going wrong and will maybe help?
Also, about the medical student being there. You are totally within your rights to ask them to leave. Patients have asked me to leave or not to be present during some procedures (however I make it a point to ask them or the family if necessary if its okay I observe/assist).
Really hope things get better xx
Come in.
Can you hear me?
Am I even talking?
There is so much I want you to know.
I am counting on someday you'll wake up and see me.
Hey, Im in the same position as above, I'll soon be working with the NHS but that does by no means make me think its perfect.
Your allowed to have this help, and you need to keep making waves until you get the treatment you deserve, if nobody ever complains about these people treating others badly, they'll continue.
Just remember, their in the wrong here, not you, so they will get a bollocking for treating you like this

Sarah: Give me the child.
Jareth: Sarah beware. I have been generous up till now. I can be cruel.
Sarah: Generous? What have you done that's generous?
Jareth: Everything! Everything you have wanted I have done. You asked the child be taken, I took him. You cowered before me, I was frightening. I have reordered time. I have turned the world upside down, and I have done it all for you! I am exhausted from living up to your expectations of me. Isn't that generous?
depends which part of glasgow your from, some areas there are better than other, i cant get any help in my area, while my frined can in hers. But either way the nhs is free regardless if it is good or not.

The NHS has a lot of flaws, granted, but to be able to go to hospital, get treated, and leave without having a £7,000 bill to pay, or being able to go to see your doctor without having to worry about coughing up the £250 for the appointment (alone, regardless of medication and treatment needed) is pretty damn incredible.
It sounds like you've had bad experiences - that is unfortunate, and I know you aren't alone in it - however, what have you done about your bad experiences? Have you complained to your local NHS board about what's happened, did you complain to the place you were at about your waiting and have you reported the psychologist?
Psychologists differ. You get good psychologists and bad psychologists, just as you get good and bad teachers, lawyers, builders - them being a part of the NHS doesn't guarantee them to be an incredible psychologist, it just means that they're employed by the NHS. I know that sometimes it's easy to wonder why people go into psychology, but they are just people, and they won't always been good - just as people aren't. Similarly, with your story about doctors.
Request to see another doctor within your surgery (that is always an option) and report the bad experiences you've had; you need to raise the issues for them to be handled effectively.
Finally, you have had bad experiences - and I am sorry about that - but don't give up. There are most certainly good and bad doctors out there, and they also differ because people want different things from a doctor - I don't care how rude my doctor is, so long as he gives me the correct diagnosis. Some other people want a sensitive and kind doctor, who'll take longer to get to the final point but you will have felt comforted by it. It's just different strokes for different folks, which is why - if you don't feel comfortable with your current doctor / support, you can and should request to see somebody else.
Finallyyyy - you have Joy Division and The Smiths as your name / subtitle. That just makes you absolutely awesome :)
Good luck, and take care. x
