I loved this episode: so much better than last weeks rainbow daleks. and it was the first time Doctor who has frightened me, I was under my blanket! Interested to see next weeks.
She lives in a fairy tale
Somewhere too far for us to find
Forgotten the taste and smell
Of the world that she's left behind
I loved it, although the weeping angels scared me AGAIN lol, But i think Matt is doing a really good job, considering David set such a high standard to follow.
Amy's really cool aswell, i like her actually :) Next weeks looks really tense :D
I really dislike Amy Pond. Really. River, meh, I'm in two minds about her. I'm still waiting for some emotion from the Doctor too.
Is it just me, or does anyone else want them to shake up the 'structure' of the episodes a bit more? It is pretty much always the last twenty minutes that are the action/resolution.
Why do you hate Amy?
The structure for EVERY (mainstream atleast) TV show that ever was is exactly that. Not just Who.

She always seems to do her own thing, which annoys me. I'm not wanting a subservient little girl, but maybe engaging the brain a little bit more. Just for example, now you know these Angel things are scary and deadly. You see that the video has changed. Would you not say something? Or a load of dust comes out of your eye, why not say something? Don't leave it until things are too late. I know it's just the writing, but it's still really annoying.
And is it really? I've never noticed. On DW it is very obvious. I'm sure that they've found that that's the best way to add tension and excitement etc, but they could mix it up a little bit.
I think she does stuff herself because she really had to grow up 'alone' with her aunt who seemed to be away all the time. She doesn't really rely on anyone else but herself and that is probably why she does her own thing....
Obviously its how she is written and thats what you don't like, but I thought that might be a reason for why she does things herself....
You made up your mind to torture mine!
If you read a scar like a book, you will relise the story in which you over look
Also it is all new to her, who would really know what to do in any of those situations?! However I do admit that when she asked River if she had more than one clip of the angel I was thinking wouldn't you say something as soon as she said no!?

All new, all definitely scary. She knew there was something wrong there. Yet she didn't say anything. It just really annoys me. She also seems to act without really thinking about it, which has worked out so far (and being Doctor Who probably will continue to) but she should really stop and think sometimes.
I was really really looking forward to the weeping angels story, they are my favourite Doctor Who monster. I love they mystery about them, how you never see them move and they don't kill you there and then they send you back into the past, yet this episode (and maybe i'm nit-picking here) has kind of ruined that, now they just killing people straight away (I know there was a reason for this but i still don't like it) and we saw them moving at the end. I just feel that it's ruined what was so great about the weeping angels, they were a different kind of monster and now they just seem too conventional.
Saying that I still thought this was the best episode so far.
We need never be hopeless, because we can never be irreparably broken
Then wear the gold hat, if that will move her;
If you can bounce high, bounce for her too,
Till she cry "Lover, gold-hatted, high-bouncing lover,
I must have you!"

I'm going to watch it again tonight to see if I feel any different. But, instead of the last ten minutes or so being a tad X-rated for the intended audience the actual story could have been extended a bit. It all seemed a bit convenient.
One of the best aspects of the Angels was that as long as you blinked/stopped watching them they could move and would go for you. That was kind of ruined. Obviously going to be explained by the light/rift thing confusing them. An explanation worthy of RTD.
I'm also not liking the Amy seems to be this important central character, with everything revolving around her.
I really had high hopes for when Moffat took over, but I'm not sure if he can keep the quality of his previous episodes.

Agreed, it's all a bit too familiar. The new series in general, and this episode in particular, seemed disjointed and messy. I think Moffat is good for the occasional episode where he can really be creative, but when it comes to being the head writer he just doesn't have the stamina.
I am enjoying Doc Who still, but its kind of a bit confusing, whole sections are just not explained, I am sure everything will make sense in the end. I like Amy but its all a bit too messy!!! xx
I have suuuch mixed feelings about this new series, unfortunately. I had high hopes and strong faith in it, and it's been a bit all over the place since it's started.
HATED the WWII episode, really did not enjoy it at all.
The weeping angels were good, but no where near as good as they were first time around in Blink. Plus, there's something about River I don't like all that much.
I don't know, it just hasn't quite clicked completely with me yet. There are aspects I love, but others that really ruin it for me, hmm.
I didn't like it at first, possibly partly because I LOVE David Tennant but I don't think the script was is too good. I'm warming to Matt Smith a bit more now, but I don't think he should be trying to be like David was, I have watched Confidential with him in and he is more likeable then. He needs to be his own Doctor.
Also, love Amy! She's gorgeous and I adore the Scottish accent! :) I like River Song too, I was excited when she was coming back.
I think the angels episode are better than the previous ones, though did leave me with some confusion!
I tried to be perfect but nothing was worth it
I don't believe it makes me real
I think that Matt Smith has taken on the role of Dr Who really well, people have got to remember that he is the youngest doctor there has been. I think that he has brought an air of eccentricity that has been sorely missed in the doctor, as it was always one of his personality traits, up until the demise of Ecclestone as the doctor. I think that david tennent was a good doctor and i enjoyed watching him, but i think that it was time for him to move on.
I think that the episode with the city of angels was very well done, but i did not find it a mind %*&^ like a did 'blink', this was a very strange episode and david tennet was hardly in it.
I do think that Amy Pond is good as a new companion, and i think there is more to come. But my main question is when are we going to know more about River Song, her and the doctor are/were so close/in love, i would love to know more.
i do remember david tennet holding a gun when he meet his daughter (jenny), and saying i never would, also when the master and the time lords came back he also held a gun then too.
I think they should have left River for another time. I prefer it when they start a thread of someone/something, then leave it for a few series instead o brining it back imediatedly. theres no suspence, then.
