I think it was because communities were close knit and people could be trusted too!
nah. think about it. What do thieves take? TV and Stero. in the old days the TV and Wireless weighed a ton. You'd need two guys to move it across the room.

Buses are horrifically expensive now. Back when I was 14 (D:), a child's day ticket was £2.80 and an adult's, which is anyone over 15 (or 18 in my case XD), was around £3.20. Kids' ones are now £3.70 and adults' are now £4.40 ¬_¬
They also add on an extra 50p for getting a ticket before 9am and an extra pound if you want to go to Alton Towers from where I live

You make a good point :P
My dad was doing some DIY outside my flat yesterday and I got paranoid about having the door open, I really think if people got a look at my laptop / stereo or something they'd think about making plans to break in.
The communal boiler was ripped off the wall last month after all.
Stop thinking about what I want, what he wants, what your parents want. What do you want?

That made me laugh even though it's rubbish. What has Alton Towers got to do with the bus!?

Life is about love, last minutes and lost evenings,
About fire in our bellies and furtive little feelings,
And the aching amplitudes that set our needles all a-flickering,
And help us with remembering that the only thing that's left to do is live.
That made me laugh even though it's rubbish. What has Alton Towers got to do with the bus!?
Because "Alton Towers creates a lot of traffic" or some crap like that.
I had mad skillz when it came to pretending to be 14 when I was 17. I just had to sound all quiet and wear a baggy hoody to hide le boobies and I was fine! My height helped a lot too xD
Also, TVs are not top of the list of things to be nicked. They're heavy, bulky and usually need more than one person to carry.
Not any more. those lcd tvs are thin and light. a child could walk away with one.

Well putting the bus price up is hardly going to dissuade people from using a car and creating yet more traffic, =/

That's very true, but most of the people going to Alton Towers are coming from all around the country and so are unlikely to use public transport, so that's probably their thinking? They also like to use any excuse to charge us.
Bunch of w*nkers
If I ever take you guys to Alton Towers, you'll see what I mean.
Are thin and very light. People will walk off with them all the time. the one in our kitchen was kicked once. guy was in and out before we knew he was there. TV was all he nicked.
People have them all over the house, livingroom included.
