awww freyja adored the snow. i took her out in it the first time in december and didnt take buggy as it was so deep. on the way home she had a huge tantrum and i ended up having to put her under my arm and march home - trying not to fall and break my neck. my bro was standing on my doorstep 2 streets away waiting on us and could hear her screaming from there, he ended up following the noise until he found us lol. jamies cousin was with me and had only been saying 10 mins before how broody she was....she promptly changed her mind!

LOL!
Chloe was just scared stiff 'mummy holp' 'cayyey' (help and carry). howled when put down and didn't stop until you picked her up. dunno if i wrote on here - at 10:30pm pn mother's day chloe woke up with a temperature so stripped her off and she said 'weewee seat' so i put her on the training seat and she did a wee! first ever (not done potty training gone straight to toilet). so she got one of mummy's chocolates.

aww thanks. i just hope ella keeps up with Chloe because Chloe had 5 adults from day 1 looking after her (lived with parents and adult brothers) and so had adult conversation and enrichment all the time, where as ella is stuck with matt playing xbox or me watching tv most of the time.
but she gets extra slinging time. i9 had her wrapped yesterday and she helped me make cake!

Just a quick update from me because its a while since I was on here.
Baby and I are both doing well. Was at my 28 week appointment last Thursday and the baby is measuring the right size and is moving around a lot and has taken to lying on my right side. My blood pressure has come down a lot (might have something to do with all the walking that I have to do each morning now!)
im 34 weeks and babys head is starting to engage - that means more room under the ribs!!! 3 more shifts at work!!!
and Tom has accepted an offer on his house, im having agents round next week to put mine on the market, were going for a second viewing on a house we both really like on tuesday and if everything is ok we will put an offer in on it next week so all exciting stuff here!!
I did it first time when Lucie was 10 days old and have done it about 4 times since then. I just made sure i covered up with a blanket, not to hide myself necessarily but to keep me warm. I must admit i was a little nervous to start with but its natural and nothing to be ashamed of, if lucie needs feeding then i will feed her. Ive had no negative comments or stares but it must be obvious whats happening. I hope you find the confidence to do it soon :) pm me if you want to talk about it. x
I've been breastfeeding Olvier in public for over 2 years and not had a single negative experience - just go for it, it won't be as bad as you're expecting :) I'm fairly sure that breastfeeding in public is protected by law in Ontario, so I would look into that if it might give you a little more confidence. And remember if people don't like it they are free not to look!
If you wear a vest under a normal top with a loose neck/buttons then you can pull the vest up and top down so that you won't feel exposed and it's very discrete.
Hey can people help me with a peice of research i'm doing? Its aimed at parents really. My hypothesis is are Parents aware what classes as a portion size of the 5 a day scheme?
Its just a quick 12 question questionaire. No names are printed and it is in strictest confidence
I am now not going to use this account as my main one from now on.
If you want my new account PM me. xxx
i breastfed in public for the first time 9 days after i had her, never looked back. very occasionally it was a bit difficult to get into position discreetly - like if i was sitting opposite someone having coffee with them and they were looking at me as they were talking to me - but other than that it was fine. i remember freyja unexpectedly latching off once when i was feeding outside a shopping centre, i was really full and the milk just kept going, spraying all over the pavement pmsl.
mand i hear they only really need the size of their fist in food. but i normally use one of the little kids plates you get in asda and just give a bit of everything. if she doesnt eat it, she doesnt eat it. if she does then she can ask for more if she wants

Mandi, I remember a few weeks back Jo frost (supernanny) did a thing about portion sizes..check out the C4 website..I think it's C4.come/jofrost you may find some info there.
Also the NHS have a good 'healthy eating' thing with portion sizes.
Life can be beautiful if you let it.

yeah i watched it but it was for 6yr olds (or 8 year olds) so not really relevant. but i dread to think if their size portion of ice cream is 1 tablespoon what chloe's should be! and for fist sie i think its 1 fist of each group - but adults regularly have 1 protein, 1 complex carb and 2 veg... so 4 portions i'm lucky if chloe eats 2 or 3 mouthfuls sometimes.
all day today she wouldn't eat unless i fed her. 'mummy help?' i went off and made my tea and came back and she'd not even touched it - not played with it or anything 'mummy help?' so i ended up feeding her and she ate it all. then i fed her yoghurt and she ate it all too. so she was hungry... just playing for attention i guess.

congrats hun.
well less than a week til chloe turns 2 and ella-mae 6months. ella has been crawling for 3 weeks now and says dada when matt isn't in her line of vision or when she first sees him. she now wakes us up by cooing instead of crying and we more often than not find her at the wrong eld of the cot eating the bars!

Congrats Laura. Don't worry about asking questions, we're all here to support each other :) x
Well I've switched to bottle feeding Lucie, she just wasn't satisfied with my milk, and she wasn't really gaining weight so we switched her and the change her was almost instant, she's calmer, more settled, more alert, and just generally a lot happier, she's sleeping better too, which means I'm happier too. I do feel guilty but she's thriving now and that's the most important thing. I am taking her to get weighed again on Wednesday, and I hope she'll have put on a good amount of weight, she was weighed last Friday and was still only 6lbs 2ozs and at birth she weighed 6lbs 8ozs.
She's a month old today, it's gone so quickly!
Mand, can't believe Chloe is nearly 2, that's gone so quickly! Hope she has a lovely birthday.
Have put a couple of new pics on the picture thread. x
