I am reading Lewis Carroll's Alice's Adventures in Wonderland atm. I also always loved the cartoon adaptation, that was some freaky shiz. The caterpillar cracks me the hell up.

Haha, it always had a creepy vibe about it, what really sticks with me, I haven't seen it for maybe five years, but what really sticks with me is the way the Cheshire Cat's voice fades out whilst he is singing and he gradually disappears leaving her alone in that forest place.

I'll watch the film at some point, but purely to see if it's as horrific as it looks.
The fact Burton has never read the books means he can go die in a fire when it comes to this. Also RED QUEEN =/= QUEEN OF HEARTS ¬_¬

it also borrows elements from Through the Looking Glass where there was a white queen and a red queen and Alice was involved in a world-sized chess game with them, somehow. I haven't read it all.

Nope, he's only ever watched the Disney animated version, which annoys me because he should read the book first. American McGee's Alice all the way.
As I said, I'll save my final judgements for when I go watch the actual film.

you can pick them up dirt cheap all over the net.
I hear they're going to make a film out of that.

well of course tim and mcGees are going to look similar. they are both weirdly bizarre versions with gothic hints.
but in reality they are quite different I think. From the commercials I see that Burtons has more colour in it.
