If you like the therapist you are with now and you feel like it's helping, I say stick with it! Although therapy may have disppointed you in the past, give this person a chance if you really feel like they can help you. Why is it causing problems with you and your mom? She should be thrilled that you are seeking help. Whatever you choose to do, good luck. <3

Some therapy just doesn't work for some people. I'm doing DBT at the moment and they keep telling me that I should consider quitting. BUT, if you do quit, don't quit all together, get some other professional help in place before hand. Stick with what you're doing for a while I think, if you do feel/continue to feel that it's making it worse look into other options.

if you like them, stick with it. you've been moved from person to person and it might be helpful now you're with someone properly. i'm sorry it's causing arguments with your mum - does she not like it?
