General Medical Question - Non Urgent - Tingling toe?

So I woke up this morning with the middle toe on my right foot tingling. It isn't painful at all, just a weird sensation.
It's now mid afternoon, i haven't worn shoes for most of the day, and i've been walking around my flat, but it's still tingling.

Any ideas what it could be?

Should maybe mention I was out last night so was wearing heels, but i've worn them plenty times before and never had any issue.
I walked home in my tights (Bit silly I know, but i only live 5 minutes away from the club) but there isn't any sign that i've stood on anything and as far as I can remember, I didn't stand on anything.

Any ideas on what it might be and the best way to make it go away would be good.

*update*
As the afternoon has turned into evening, my ankle has started to become pretty sore. At first I thought it was just my dodgey ankle playing up again, but then the pain became worse than what it usually would be for that... And i was pondering over what I might be... and then I remembered, I went over my ankle last night while wearing heels and walking on cobbles.

My ankle isn't overly sore, I can deal with it... but I'm now thinking, could the going over on my ankle be linked to the tingling toe

Thank you =]
xx

Stephzors!!!

i have had the same thing happen when ive been wearing heels the night before, i think it might just be that the blood flowhas been restricted to that particular toe for ages. i dunno though.

Thats what I thought, but having worn these heels before and they've never caused that problem.
And I took my heels off around 2am... so it's been over 12 hours since then, so i thought it would be semi-back to normal now, but it's not... it's just the same.

Googles telling me it might be nerve damage?! or something to do with alcohol consumption?! (google is no longer my friend!)

Right, if your ankle is swollen/ sore it may be worth following RICE on that; Rest, Ice (15mins at a time up to once every hour with a damp towel between the ice and your skin), Compression by putting a bandage or ideally a correctly sized tubigrip bandage on it (Size D is right for the average ankle, C for small, E for large) but just in th day as tubigrips need to be taken off at night and remove it if your toes go cold/ blue, and elevation keep your feet up.

If you fall on your ankle you can bash a nerve that does change the sensation to your toes and so can cause that, it wouldn't be long lasting in most cases so this is probably the problem and the heels can exacerbate the problem as they put a LOT of pressure on your toes. As well as that, if there is swelling around the area, which may not even be visible, that can put pressure on the nerve making it last longer.

Ibuprofen could also help with your ankle (and potentially the tingling if it is pressure around the nerve due to swelling) so you could try taking that as said on the box so long as you have no medical reasons/ on any meds that mean you can't. Take as it says on the box.
