I am currently:
Triggering (SI) - Nerve damage

I cut my cephalic vein several times lately, and was warned that I was millimetres from hitting the biggie and carking it. The blood loss I can deal with, since it's only slightly more dizzy-making than my head meds.

What's concerning me is the nerve damage. I have annoyed the cephalic nerve badly, and have to wear a splint for the moment to keep control of the pain. Does anyone else have experience of similar nerve damage? If so, how has it progressed, and did it heal?

Thanks.

I have experience of nerve damage from self harm, and am recovering from an operation in November after self harm.

I can't really give much on how it's progressing because it all seems to be really slow and steady but just wanted to say if you wanted to talk, feel free :)

Your Doctor may be able to give you a good idea/guide on what to expect.

xx

I damaged a minor section of nerves that respond to pain in my left pinky and ring finger. I Only have half the feeling of those two fingers, plus some phantom responses. I also just learned that it takes upwards of twenty years for smaller nerves to regrow. Even longer for larger clusters. I'm gonna say your probably flirting with paralysis and losing all feeling in the areas served by the nerve.

Even if you live 1200 miles away, we can get through it together. You and me, one day at a time.

Thanks for the PsOV, folks. My doc (who has a borderline daughter and is the best GP in the world) said it might never come right. I can still use my hand, but my grip isn't so good, and it's the referred pain in my arm and shoulder that's driving me nuts.

I know - my own fault. That stings more than anything.

I know, it's really hard when you know you did it yourself. I hope it works out ok for you though. Are you having any physio? x
