Mildly Triggering (ED) - How do you know

Hey do you know if you have an ED? If you fit all the criteria except for the weight part does that mean you may have one or do you have to meet all the criteria. like is there an ED that has some bnut not all criteria. I dont know how to ask this without unwittingly violating rules ( ie.. purging, amounts eating, starving, weight). I just am curious and would like to know. When I was a teen I was diagnosed with bulimia and anorexia. When I became an adult I was placed on steroids that put tons of weight on me. I been able to lose drastic amount but still within healthy range so does that mean since I am not below that I have not got it again. I am just confused and need to figuire it out. is there always a potential for relapse even if criteria not met. Sorry to bother I just am so confused.

come cry on my shoulder, I will hold you till its over !!!

There is a criteria that needs to be met for you to be diagnosed,,
But you should be able to get some sort of help without fitting that criteria if you feel you have a problem.
Do you think you have a problem?
It's better to get help sooner rather than wait for your weight to become so low you end up very ill.

No, I don't need them...

There's a criteria but there's also ednos (eating disorder not otherwise specified) for anyone who doesn't fit into a specific disorder. As Jayne said you should be able to get help at any stage if you feel you have a problem.

It means you have the mind set but may not fit the DSM-IV criteria wise because of your weight.
But it's really not important! You are obviously having issues with your eating, are you seeing anyone about it?
In fact with anorexia I seem to remember that part of the criteria talks about losing a certain percentage of the weight you started off at. (Though another bit probably focuses on your actual BMI)
(hugs)

Agreed with above, especially if this has been a problem with you in the past and if you feel it is resurfacing, please get some help for this now! You don't need to be in a certain weight to get your thoughts and behaviours seen to and get yourself behaving in healthy ways. Especially if you're at risk from being ill with it in the past. Can you speak to a doctor or counsellor about how you're feeling?

As forever unnoticed has said, how is your mindset relating to food and your weight? Being within the healthy weight range is a really really good thing, but if your mindset regarding food and your behaviours (ie. if you drastically lost weight cause you starved) are not good then maybe you need to speak to a professional, and monitor how you feel about yourself & food.
