Omg, Kelly, Oliver is freaking adorable!! I can't believe how old he is. Eee. You've produce such a gorgeous offspring.

Star, do you know why Faith is having problems with drinking things and such? Is she teething? (Sorry, didn't feel like I could post without replying to you, even though I'm clueless). xx

No idea why she's having problems with it.
Yes. She is teething. So that could be it.

have you tried a normal cup or glass? you hold it and gently tip the drink into her mouth.

also putting it in the fridge so its cold can help as can freezing it, get some plastic sealed bags (you can buy zipper bags and breastmilk storage bags too) and put the liquid in them in a thin layer. then freeze and every half hour mash up the partially frozen liquid, this stops it going solid and makes it more like a slush/ice-cream sort of texture so you can feed it as food, its cold so is appealing to sore gums and it gets the fluids in.

also teaching how to use a bendy straw can be good because it's a novelty.

hey, my milk finally came in tonight, i expressed nearly 200mls off for ellie-belly to drink tonight. her jaundice has passed and her cord came away today. i was worried it was infected because i tohught 4 days was too early for it to come off (everything i read says 7-10 days) but the midwife was happy with how it looked and said it looked ready to come off and so it did.

she's been really alert today, had lots of hiccups but stayed awake for 3hours earlier, which was nice as an old friend had come to visit and she stayed awake the whole time and is now sleeping soundly.

at the moment Faith is using some teething toys to chew on which don't seem to be working too well. Thanks for the reply Mand I am going to try some medication - if only I was old enough to buy that stuff.

I'm starting to get better at guessing though lol!
Thanks for the reply she's going to be going to the doctors today about it at 1PM I managed to make an appointment during my lunch brake xx

how old do you have to be to buy that stuff? when i worked in morrisons there was no legal age to buy those products (make sure you get the baby ones so the doseage is correct) but we were advised to use our discretion when selling to under 16s. if you work you're surely over 16?
dr can also prescribe for her.

did you try putting the toys in the fridge? some frozen pepper or carrot sticks make good chompy things, just careful she doesn't choke.

you have to be 16.
I just turned 16, I don't look it because I'm so small and always get asked for ID when I don't have any so I am a bit nervous to go in and ask for some. Mand I don't work. I am still at school but due to complicated issues with my mum and dad I had to leave and come and look after my younger sister instead of finishing education.

O.o I didn't think of that! Thanks for the idea I am going to try it tonight hopefully she will sleep through the night tonight.

Mand - congratulations!!!!!!!! I'm glad things are getting more settled with the feeding Hurray for you all!

Starbear - I'd ask the health visitor if you know their number. You should have a red book for Faith, which will have the number in it, or else ask at the doctor's surgery, or surestart childrens' centre. It sounds like you have a lot of responsibility for someone who is 16, are you getting any help? It's hard on you to have all these worries to deal with and be so responsible for a two year old. I have a two year and I know what they're like!

Jen - same thing happened when I had Madeleine - legs tightly closed! I was convinved she was a boy... wriggly and perfect is good - more important than gender. I understand the frustration though! I was so glad this time they could tell me.

I've had a bit of a 'breakdown' on Wednesday and I cried a lot and wanted to die and Pete had to be called home from work. He's been off work ever since. I feel a lot safer with him here. I was having scary thoughts and I kept forgetting/not caring about Madeleine and the baby, and I cut too deep and it's a bit infected now... The crisis team got called out, but they never took me away, so I guess that's good... Pete's back at work next week, but after that he has a 2 week holiday, and hopefully I can 'settle' mentally in that time. Hopefully I'm just being hormonal! But I do have some bad bad thoughts to do with harming/killing myself which just aren't normal, but I can't think of good reasons why they're not rational... so that makes me think I must be 'mentally ill' at the moment.

And plop on your head.

you're mentally pregnant at the mo, it's enough to set a 'normal' person's emotions in crisis, let alone someone who has had troubles before.

it will pass. love you x

Yeah I have a red book for Faith with numbers and stuff in it. I am going to see the health visitor tomorrow with Faith she's coming to the house so I'm going to ask her about the teething stuffs.
I don't get much help with Faith but I manage most of the time with a little help from my boyfriend...it;s been a little difficult rescently because I keep feeling really ill and keep being sick in the morning.

I'm glad your health visitor's coming to see you, hopefully that'll put your mind at rest. I hope you feel better soon - sickness isn't good... call me paranoid, but you're not pregnant are you??

Mand I hope you're right that it will pass. At the moment I have lots of bad ideas...

have you skipped any periods? if so get a test, if not... test anyway and if negative test again 2 weeks later if no period and still feeling ill.

you might qualify for some volunteer help, they come in and help for a couple of hours a week so you can get a break. also remember to ask dr (and maybe health visitor) to prescribe stuff like calpol for teething and post-jab fever.

my arm is really sore and itchy, i had to have an mmr jab in hospital as my ruebella antibody was not present when tested this pregnancy (it was there when pregnant with chloe!). so its all come up, my whole arm aches, my shoulders hurt and i have a sore throat. grrr lol.

i bought the girls first matching outfits today! it's a denim dress with minnie mouse on, stripey tights and a long sleeved top, £12 in asda... hehe they can hate me later! also bought some cheap tights for ellie and a fleecey jumper from the basics range in asda - £1.75, they also do stuff like t-shirts for 75p and jeans for a few quid. so if you need some cheap clothes... go look in asda.

ellie managed to roll onto hr side today when she was lay on the bed with me, will have to watch her lol. anyways... enough bout me...

You can go to sexual health clinics to get tested for free. They'll also be able to go through your options if the test is positive. Try not to worry too much (Easier said than done i know)

You sound like you're doing a fantastic job with your little sister! Toddlers are so much hard work, i know! Does she go to nursery while your at school? You can always ask them for advice about things.

Do your parents live in the same house with you? Legally, even if they're staying away for a while. x x

My love, a beautiful future awaits

I don't go to school I had to stop going to school when she was born because my mum and dad couldn't look after her because they have mental health issues.
