Triggering (SI) - New Sticky Stuff

Just come back from my local NHS walk in center where a very nice nurse has slapped this ....well.....stuff over my cuts which didn't need steri stripping, apparently it reduces the scarring. Anyone else had this stuff, or know what it is?

is it like a big see thru pad thingy? if so (cant remember the name of it) it helps it heal by keeping the wound moist so tht i heals properly and reduces scarring.

Is it a scar reduction pad? I think that may be what Dani means?
Some can be applied to fresh wounds I think, so it could be one of those.

Take care

There called duo derm.
As mentioned above, it keeps the wound mosit and warm. This is optimal for healing. It helps prevent infection and because it hals faster it gernrally leaves less scaring.

I had a similar thing once for SI scars. Mine was used after cosmetic surgery around the face, packed full of steroids and makes them heal and 'sink into' the normal skin tone and level much quicker. They thought it was needed, as my scars were very noticable..

Can these be gotten from a normal pharmacy?

In my experience, they are called Silicon pads.

I had one back in August last year for a particularly nasty cut.I didn't find any joy in them though.
