It's good to know that there are people who like their scars too. x

&&I wanted her to tell me that she will never wake me.
Yes, it is. I guess after a while once we have accepted our scars, we begin to like them and realise that they are our survivor marks. :)
I hope we can all start to like our scars xxx

You gain strength, courage, and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You must do the things which you think you cannot do.
after 6 years, im showing scars now.
i get comments, most i just ignore. people ask questions, and occasionaly i give them the answer straight.
i'm trying to leave SH behind me now, and i haven't harmed for 4 weeks (my record) :)
I like my scars, and it feels good to know that others do as well, i do hide them while going out with mates and that because no one really knows about my SI.
well ive been free for about 6 months and im so happy i am well and truely over it but i just cant get around uncovering i realy cant, i where bracelets most of the time that cover them there only on my wrists but i dont know what to do i realy do wish i was truely free and could go uncovered and not care but i do to much i dont know what to do :s
you are my strong tower,
shelter over me,
beautiful and mighty,
everlasting king!!!
You'll get used to it eventually, Victoria. There will come a time when you realise that the scars will never go and that you can't keep covering up forevere and you'll become comfortable with them. For now, stay where you are and just let them "be".
I'm not really fussed about others showing obvious sh scars. I guess I feel like I wish I could go over and talk to them about it, show them that I understand and try t help them and such, but.. That seems silly! :p
So yeah.. Other people showing scars doesn't really bother me, I just wonder if they ever get comments about it.

I'm pretty indifferent to covering up my scars. I don't know why but they don't feel like they're screaming for people to look at them unless I'm sitting really close to someone, in which case I sorta self-consciously cross my other arm over them... I only cover up with a wristband/long sleeves etc if I have new cuts.
Wow, TinkerDebs, can I swap Mums?!?!?! :P Your mum sounds like a genuinely lovely person :)
When I see others with scars, i wish i could wander over and talk to them, but I'm too scared of making them uncomfortable. I wouldn't want to talk abotu the scars, I'd just want to say hi and ask how they're doing and stuff, just generally make them feel better because I know how much it helps you know?
It's nice to feel able to have my scars out no matter how bad they are, because I don't want to be covering up, especially not when we've had such brilliant weather as we have over the past few days!
Keep going everyone :)

kaftans! are the way forward in the summer! u can buy them cheap in primemark and they are good because it means you wont get burnt either! and they keep you really cool!
It's tragic; you tried to cut yourself in half,
But this isn't magic; in fact it's something much more dark, or more dramatic
Self harm, that’s what they call it.
'Cause it just affects you.
It's your life, your body, so you can choose what you do,
And if one day you can't rein it in,
and of your last breath you are the only witness,
Then so be it, cause it’s your last breath,
and it's nobody else’s business.
I bought one last Wednesday! And it is FANTASTIC!!!! It's so, so cool and covers up my scars really well and even looks good! :D
You can get them cheaply in Peacocks too. I got mine for £3 :D
