Mildly Triggering (ED) - How do I know

I was anorexic and bulimic from an early age. After high school I was place on steroids where I ballooned up. now in my the 30s I have finely been able to achieve a healthy weight by diet and excercise. Unfortunantly with the weight loss my ed seems to be cropping up again. no matter how much I lose I am never happy. I say if I reach this X I will be happy but I am not. I am not actively binging or purging. I do eat a little each day and drink plenty of water. I am not underweight or over weight so am I really dealing with an ed. My councelor seems to thik so but I dont fit any of the criteria needed for any specific ed. help what do I do.

come cry on my shoulder, I will hold you till its over !!!

You doing need to be a specific weight to have the behaviours/thoughts of an ED. Have you thought about talking to your counsellor about how you are feeling about this? I think you need to try and focus on the positives about your weight (ie, you are healthy), rather than think you'll be happy when you reach a certain point because, as you say, you won't be.

Hi!
I agree with Claire about speaking to your counsellor, and realising the danger you might be in shows a lot of insight so well done for that! Even though right now you may not fit any of the physical criteria for an ED if you're experiencing the midset again then it could be cause for concern.
Recovering after high school what do you think helped you? Could you implement any of those recovery tactics once again?
I think it's really important to give yourself credit for how far you've come already, not just in fighting EDs but in your life as a whole. You've probably achieved many things that having an ED would have stopped you from doing. You don't need to equate your weight with self worth anymore. You're much much more than that.

You cannot get through a single day without having an impact on the world around you What you do makes a difference, and you have to decide what kind of difference you wish to make.
