Berni - Sorry if i'm being dim/repeating a question already asked but why is Chris unable to get a job?
Also a creche/nursery is astounding for developmental skills for a few afternoons a week. Lots of nurserys take babies/children just for a few hours but some don't. But i can understand your reasonings for not wanting to do it, but at some point Kyle is going to have to have interaction skills with people his own age, learning how to share/play/learn etc.
And Helena - what a cute bump!! But you do show a lot sooner with your second pregnancy (and onwards!) so don't get too paranoid just yet lol. xx
I think you're farther along! And wow you're a hottie!
My friend is pregnant too and midwife said about 16-17 weeks, she was feeling flutters... but then scan said only 10 weeks, so she was obv dreaming up the flutters. But you gotta bump to prove it lol! Do you have a fetal doppler? We got a heartbeat at 15w6d - slimmer women can sometimes get at 12weeks, you could try one, if you get a heartbeat you know you're 12weeks+. I think pregnancy can throw off those ovulation tests!
Berni, i take it you want to do a degree? is it important to you to do a specific course to get into a degree course? if not go for one that is cheapest/shortest/fits in best with Kyle and then worry about the degree when you get there. studying part-time you could get upto degree level in a couple of years, then take a break and do the degree once kyle is at school.

I think, if I have heard right that sometimes you can get positive ovulation tests when your actually pregnant.pretty sure I read that on bounty somewhere! X

oooh!! that makes me feel better! The strange thing was, the month before I thought I was pregnant because I had a lot of symptoms (boobs hurting, tired, sick) but then I had a period... although the period could have been caused by coming off the contraceptive pill? Roll on the scan...
if it were me i would make an appt with a doctor/midwife and ask them to have a feel of your tummy. they cant feel the fundal height until you are past 12 weeks as the uterus is still in the pelvic cavity. so you would know at least if you are past 12 weeks !

would media studies be something to look at for a degree? i know the open university offers a media studies degree with their open plan course where you tailor fit it to your needs. have just checked, they also offer a course called 'the arts past and present' which gives you enough ucas points to be able to get onto the degree course.
you could do it around work, around looking after kyle or even around home teaching him.

Berni, I'm planning to HE too - it would be great to meet up as the boys get older and share ideas :) they could be penpals! Although not for a while yet obviously lol.
Don't mean to be rude or anything, but how do you know that Kyle is more intelligent than any other baby? I think Lucas is clever when he learns new things, but I know that all babies do it and there's a very wide age range for when children develop. I'm not sure you can tell whether or not he's particularly bright at this age.
I have nothing against home educating, but I think school is all part of growing up and socialising. Plus, loads of people I went to school with were intelligent and achieved the best grades they could in the local high school. Obviously it's a personal choice, but anyway, I'm rambling as usual :)
Sorry if that's how you feel, but as I said it was not intended to be rude. I don't feel it was disrespectful at all. I was simply stating my opinion.
I'm not sure why you felt the need to tell people that your baby is extremely bright if you feel that all babies are extremely clever though. Or why you are studying if you don't believe qualifications mean anything.
Hey ho. Hate this bloody site sometimes. I forgot that you either keep your mouth shut or someone will call you names for having an opinion.
Hey, chloe said 'fish' today when pointing at our tank! She's also learning how to fall over a lot... i think she is trying to either kick toys out of her way or try to run, the result is she falls over!
How is everyone? I am hating being pregnant and already want baby out of there.... can't cool down, feel faint a lot (a new one on me) and am dreading as the weeks go on. mand x

happy birthday berni, hope you're having a good time. RE: your education, now you're 21 can't you just jump straight onto a 'mature student' degree... you don't need A levels then and can get where you want to go quicker and more easily. A lot of colleges/uni's offer it, and the OU also... don't know exactly what you had in mind but just a thought.... i know i'm taking advantage of that loop hole!
The weather has been weird here today. I love the sun when there's a nice cool breeze to go with it. But I hate it when I'm stuck in an office on the top floor of a building, working. So not fun!
I want to go to the beach, please can we come too? :)
did you actually do anything on the training course? matt had to do an induction the first day then spent the rest of his time skiving off watching movies to try and actually job hunt. he got so bored he got the yellow pages and rang every business in order to see if they had jobs, a few pages a day!!
