SI Question - Re-opening wounds *slightly graphic*

okay so i have quite a few gaping cuts on my leg that had slightly healed, but i went to Malham yesterday and all the walking and hiking has made them so painful, they were just getting better, the scabbing on the tops are slightly broken but i can still see through underneath and it looks disgusting, kinda like its bleeding inside, does anyone know if the walking is what has done this to me and/or if its dangerous?

Aww, Malham... we went there last year for biology. =]

It's probably from rubbing against your clothes or something. It's not dangerous when it's all bleeding inside really, but... iuno, you probably just don't like how it looks. Conversely, I think that kind of thing actually heals relatively quickly (in my experience) xxx

This shouldnt be to big a problem, however you may want to take a look at our wound care guide (located under the advice tab at the top of the fourm) to see the best way of dealing with the wounds to ensure they heal properly.

On top of what KimB has said, because of the healing of your wound being a bit disturbed (which is why it has been more painful and bleeding underneath; it may be through the skin stretching whilst walking or it rubbing on your clothes or something else) it will have set it back a biit in healing as it will have more to repair now than it had before it got like that but it shouldn't take much longer and should hopefully heal fine, you'd have just shifted it back a bit in the healing process.
