Then wear the gold hat, if that will move her;
If you can bounce high, bounce for her too,
Till she cry "Lover, gold-hatted, high-bouncing lover,
I must have you!"

Fi, in every Starbucks I've been to, ever, an Tall Americano is £1.70. That to me, isn't expensive - especially compared to other places around here, and I'd quite happily pay that.

I'm not saying you're wrong for liking Starbucks. I'm saying Starbucks serve up crap coffee, which isn't worth the money you're spending on it. But if you like it, fine. I can't help but think people would change their mind if they had a cup of really good coffee to compare. But whatever.
Well, it kinda does sound like you are. Even in the following sentences, it sounds like you are.
And I've had decent coffee, and I've had crap coffee. Starbucks is fairly in-the-middle for me.
And, I like coffee. I'm not a coffee connoisseur, but to be quite honest, I don't want to be. I like Starbucks coffee, it's convenient, and I like their range of drinks as well (which is what they sell more on, rather than the actual coffee). I don't feel guilty or pretentious for walking into Starbucks, because I like their coffee. I've had better coffee, and I've had worse - it's fairly middle-of-the-road, and fairly-middle-of-the-road-priced.
This makes me happy.
On the flip side of the coin, I think if anyone was to have strong opinions about coffee, it would have to be Fi. I'm inclined to listen to her, cause lets face it, she knows her coffee.
Aye, I'm not denying that she knows her **** about coffee...
But I happen to like Starbucks coffee. Personal choice. And I'm willing to spend my £1.70 there. And tbh. I couldn't care if it's not as good as some coffee there is around, it's certainly better than other coffee.
One day I might be in town and think, oohh, I'll have a Starbucks *goes into Starbucks* and the next day I could be like, ooh I fancy something from Costa *goes to Costa* and etc.
I think that the main reason people have an issue with Starbucks is that it purports to be special, and yet in reality it is the MacDonald's of coffee. Despite only serving mediocre product it has managed to become a huge empire, which must be incredibly frustrating for small, high-quality cafes that are trying to compete.
And there's never any ****ing seats.
Not that I drink coffee or anything but if I'm brought there by some one who wants to get something I'd like to be able to enjoy a nice sit-down. But no.
*shakes fist at Starbucks*
^^ Do you ever get this kind of unnerving feeling that the people taking up those seats are so addicted to their coffee that they never leave. I always feel like when you walk in they look at you like "THEY'RE GOING TO STEAL ALL THE COFFEE. AND THE SEATS. MUSN'T MOVE."
O_o
You can't lose hope when it's hopeless.
You gotta hope more,
then put your fingers in your ears and go,
"Blah blah blah blah!"

My sister works at Starbucks, I get family discount. Easy. It's not preference, it's just the fact I get it cheaper and I like the Frappuchino's more than the Frescato's in Costa.
Plus Starbucks have Skinny Lemon and Poppyseed muffins :) I've yet to find them in any other coffee chain.

There's a ginger haired man called Bert with a small mohican and a position of respect in a local Warhammer club at the one in my town. He's pretty cool =D
And he brought me into a vast farmlands of our own midwest. And as we descended, cries of impending doom rose from the soil. One thousand, nay a million voices full of fear. And terror possesed me then. And I begged, "Angel of the Lord, what are these tortured screams?" And the angel said unto me, "These are the cries of the carrots, the cries of the carrots! -- Not a vegetarian
