And Marky it's true, I watched the telethon last night that was raising money and it's so fantastic to see, even people from flood-damaged OLD are donating to this cause. It does show the true spirit of Australia.

This is horrible. My friend moved to Australia in 2004, haven't seen her since, and today sent me a text message (must have cost her a hell of a lot!) to say that her best friend has died. I can't believe it. I really feel for her and all the victims of this tragedy. In fact, I feel for everyone in Australia.. it must be so hard to deal with.

hey, im the opposite side of oz at the mo but it has been scary to see what so many of you are going through. and how frigging sick do you have to be to start something like that. in england, start a fire a few houses may burn down but it is so well known that fires can spread rapidly where you guys are
i made sure i went to COLES on friday cos they were donating all their profits. one hugely amaziing thing thathas come across while i have been here is how majorly supportive and generous everyone has oz has been to rally round for each others.
my thoughts are with everyone that has been affected by this tragedy
