If you dont mind watching it in segments... they do have the entire movie on youtube.

They also have "thin" on there too. But I MUST forwarn... it is/can be extremely triggering.

In the book Speak the main character SIs once but not in the movie.

Then wear the gold hat, if that will move her;
If you can bounce high, bounce for her too,
Till she cry "Lover, gold-hatted, high-bouncing lover,
I must have you!"

I'm going to be honest and say it.

I watch movies like this, when I'm about to relapse or when I'm self-harming and want to encourage myself.

Just saying.

Wristcutters: A Love Story

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0477139/

Starts out with a kid killing himself through the method mentioned in the title, other than that there isn't much SI although the overall theme is suicide and the afterlife. It ends in a happy manner, although I guess you could consider it a dark love story/comedy.

"Dans ma Peau"-In My Skin is a great movie about self-mutilation.
The whole movie is about that. It`s very graphic and triggering though.

SECRETARY - watch it it's good. adult content.. but the beauty of the relationship is... wow.

As a little kid you believed in fairytales,
that fantasy of what your life would be: white dress; prince charming who would carry you away to a castle on a hill.
You closed your eyes and had complete and utter faith.
Eventually you grow up. One day you open your eyes and the fairy tale disappears.
But the thing is, it's hard to let go of that fairytale entirely because almost everyone has that smallest bit of hope, of faith,
that one day they will open their eyes and it will come true.

alot that I was going to say have already been mintioned. so I'll just comment on those formintioned first:

Stay: it took me 5 times to understand it, it's really good, kind of trippy but good, features SI a few times

Manic: it was ok...more about a teen boy dealing with Bipolar disorder and living in a ward then SI, but there are some bits that talk aobut it.

Augusta Gone: all time favorite, I think it features SI once only, haven't seen it in a while

13: I was forced to watch it when I moved in with my mom, I liked it but the ending triggered me really bad. I cried

Secretary: great movie, it has BDSM in it so I don't think younger ages should be present, and not alot of people are into that thing so..

Girl, Inturrupted: as said, great movie, I watch it every chance I get

Painful Secrets: I personally couldn't stand it, there's jsut something about the way the actress of the main character portrays her part that irritates me. I've only watched it twice

there's an epy of Degressi that has SI in it but I think everyone knows that one, and I forgot the episode name.

House Epy: Sleeping Dogs Lie: more medical then anything but the paitent they are treating self harms and has Bulimia

On the Edge of Innocence: about a girl who suffers from manic depression that ends up in a ward..not really about SH but there's a bit in there about ED's

Saw 2,3,4: the majority of those are really gory...I think only 2 and 3 have SH, there's also a bit about drugs because the character Amanda gets pushed into a pit of syringes and the story line was that she was addicted to heroin. I had a hard time watching that movie, because it triggered me really bad, I was watching it with my g/f and I had to turn it off because nither of us could handle watching it.

I'm sure there's loads more but I can't think of any, and I've seen Ginger Snaps once and I don't remember any SH...

a japanese movie called "tokyo gore police" has at least 2 scenes of self-harm. the first scene of self harm is in the very beggining of the movie.

the main character self-mutilates and in the middle of the film it shows a flashback of her as a child watching her mother cutting herself with a kitchen knife. most certainly the reason why the main character does what she does.

but this movie is mainly a horror/gore type movie. and really weird aswell.
but i enjoyed it a lot.
