I know I haven't been around...

And I really do apologize for that. I miss you all so much.
I feel bad for posting this, since I haven't been supporting ya'll and stuff, but I really really need some hugs and/or support.

Life for me right now is just... for lack of a better word... hellish.
There is so much going on right now that I feel like I am afloat on the angry sea of life... barely managing to keep my head above the crashing waves.

I have threads about **** that is going on in my life here, here and here if anyone is interested in reading about what is going on.

Amanda please don't feel bad for posting when you need support. We all have times when we need support and are unable to offer support to others. I don't really have much to say at the present time, just wanted to offer you hugs and my listening ear [reading eye]. *hugs you*

No need to apologise! I'm not suprised it's hard - families can be very hostile places and it sounds like your in-laws are pretty messed up... I'm glad your husband helps, though, he sounds sweet.

You said in one of your posts that you haven't seen a doctor - I'm sure it's something you've thought of, but perhaps they could help? Or a counsellor?

Anyway, try to be kind to yourself, you're worth it

I have no health insurance... and no money to pay for a doctor visit or to pay a counsellor.

That's a shame. Are there any support organisations or charities that provide counselling for free?

I'm sorry about your struggles with your extended family; it sucks that they don't understand and aren't supportive with the exception of your husband who sounds very supportive to you.

do you think that maybe if you or your husband "educated" your family a bit more about si that they would maybe be more understanding?

please come and post here as often as you need.

*leaves hugs*

I don't think either one of us really know enough about SI to educate them. But that is something that I wish we/I could do.

what if you looked under the "awareness" link that ryl has or under the "advice" and print off some articles and stats, etc? do you think that may help?

EDIT: just looking in the self-injury discussion part of the forum and noticed the sticky-ed thread "The Self Harm Information Package" http://www.recoveryourlife.com/forum...to_threadtools
[not sure if I linked it right... hopefully]

They are not the sort of people to take time to read stats and stuff :(
