We watched Love Actually last night.
I love that film.
It has the most amazing ability to just make me feel all warm and fuzzy inside, from the opening credits alone.
Miracle on 34th street is on tonight at 6.20,channel 4 :)
There are times to stay put, and what you want will come to you.
But there are times to go out into the world and find such a thing for yourself.
I aint no abacus but you can count on me.
Love Actually
I love Hugh Grant, Colin Firth and Kris Marshall anyway but this film rocks! My favourite bit is when Mark goes to see Juliet on Christmas Eve and he has the boards which say "With any luck, by next year - I'll be going out with one of these girls......But for now, let me say.....Without hope or agenda......Just because it's Christmas......And at Christmas you tell the truth......To me, you are perfect.......And my wasted heart will love you......Until you look like this.....Merry Christmas."
I love that film and that's one of my favourite bits too. I watched it the other night and it made me feel all happy and Christmasy but now I can't stop singing "All I want for Christmas is you"
I used to love Santa Claus The Movie - I think that's what it was called anyway! Where a man and wife get stuck in a snow storm and get rescued and taken to the North pole and he becomes Santa. I can't really remember the rest as it's been years since I last saw it! Muppets Christmas Carol is also fantastic!
Raymond Briggs' The Snowman - Beautiful music
How the Grinch Stole Christmas - The animated version
Christmas Vacation --because everyone has an Uncle Eddie
I agree with Twisted Fate. Because, A Christmas Story epitomizes winter, and the winter season. And parents thinking that you'll poke/shoot/generally damage your eye out.
It also is quite educational, as it teaches kids that you should not lick poles in wither ((Will not mention the number of kids that did in fact try to lick a pole after watching A Christmas Story))
