So I might be shuned for this, but my parents pay for my gas :)
I get to drive the car (a hybrid may I add!) without having to pay. Only when I get worried about not being able to get home without getting more gas.

Damn, here I was all excied because the cheap petrol is 97.9....thats the cheapest i have seen it in a year and a half. But I cannot bebothered to go out and fill Norman up. Nor do I have the money...and now it is going to rise again? What a bitch. I knew this was going to happen.
As The One says, OPEC are now cutting production to make sure the cost of oil per barrel doesn't drop much further - so no good expecting much more mercy from the oil companies.
In the Arab world they say "allah kareem" (God is generous). Well, he certainly has been to them - they sit back and employ foreign expertise to get the stuff out of the ground and then enjoy the revenue for doing nothing at all.
Quick aside - I was driving back from Scotland in October 1973 and stopped to refuel on the M5. Having done so I told the Manager that I'd never buy petrol there again - they'd had the audacity to charge 35 pence for a gallon - totally outrageous! A week later we had the Yom Kippur war and suddenly the oil-producing nations realised just what a hold they'd got on the West. And they haven't let up since ...

No, 99p or 97p or even 92p is not cheap. Knock off the exorbitant taxes (note plural) and it might then begin to reflect the reality of oil prices - though the oil producers have, for now, got us by the short and curlies.
Prediction: The Middle East will descend into even more chaos when an alternative to oil is found, as it surely will be. The producers, currently sitting back fat and happy for doing bugger-all, will then have to try to sustain their economies by actually paying their way in the world. It will be serious shock!

It is cheap for me. Compared to what I have been used to paying. So yes, I am afraid I do find it cheap and will be relatively happy if it stays like this!
