Own up everyone who got it wrong this morning! I'm proud to say I didn't, even though I'm seriously doubtful as to the value of it. Who are these bloody politicians and Whitehall mandarins who decide these things and impose them on us?
It is reputed to have started after an accident with schoolkids years ago in Stornoway in the Western Isles, which the Jeremy Vine show earlier this week claimed to have no foundation at all. We have a cottage in the Western Isles and through much of the winter there is 18 hours of darkness and only 6 hours of daylight; so, unless the kids have extraordinarily short school hours, they're going to either arrive or depart in darkness anyway. Who are these people, who get paid by us as taxpayers, who devise these obscure forms of nonsense which then impact on the 99% who don't live that far north anyway.
