On sunday one of my friends (not a close friend but an ok guy) from work was stood on reception with me and i looked down to see his arm pouring blood. he says he has no idea how it happened, he's a tech and said he probably caught it on the machines. fair point but due to the size and the amount of blood i would say it was unlikely he caught it by accident and had absolutely no idea he did it. but me being me just agreed with his story and helped him clean it up and bandage it etc. (im not currently a trained first aider it ran out a while back but i seem to be the person who patches everyone up after they've been stupid). it wasn't until i got it to stop bleeding that i could have a look.
it was too neat to have been caught on a screw or something in a machine, i have worked with guys who work with the same machines for a few years inc my fiance and yes they are dangerous and can do a lot of damage to people but not like that.
the problem is i followed my gut instinct (and the advice of another colleage who has also had experience of SI ) and went straight to management to dicuss my concerns. however i then thought i would hate it if someone had done the same to me. he is pissed of and on the defensive about managements reaction. he doesnt know it was me who said anything, he came to me to bitch about it. but im not sure where to go from here.
