Wanting to change Support worker
I want a new social worker. I don't find my current one helpful at all. I'm often having to correct her or disagreeing a lot.
Last time I saw her she asked how I was doing with my bulimia. I'm NOT bulimic. I have had history of anorexia for 15 years and have relasped recently. I said I wasn't bulimic that I don't binge or purge at all. She looked at me as if I was in denial. Asked me what I 'did' with food then. I said just restrict.
I felt really bad. guilty, like I clearly haven't lost any visable weight as she doesn't see it.
My GP wrote to her before I saw her last to express her concerns for me yet SW seems to not take note. And even gets it wrong about problem.
She is always askign what would help me when police are involved. I said I didn't plan on them being needed to section me again etc. But she always brings up these times. Refering to them often
I had a bad time other week when 'someone' found me on facebook. I was a mess and had SI urges. I called GP and got some diazepam to help me over weekend. Twas a lifesaver.
When I saw SW however, I couldn't talk about what happened. She was just interested in what stopped me from SIing. I know this is good to look into, as it is always good to know what help. But I needed to talk about the trigger, the reason behind it all. But I wasn't able to. I tried but she kept going on about SI. I DIDN'T SI damn it. I want/need to talk about what the trigger was.
OK this is getting long, *apologises*
So I se eher on Tuesday. Am I able to just ask for another worker? Would I have to write to her manager in the team?
How many times can I ask for new worker (I asked for new one after an inapropriate situ with last one) Do I have to have a good answer/reason?
I don't wanna seem ungrateful by asking for another worker. But it just isn't working with her.
Apologises for this being a long post :s

i'm tired of chasing my dreams.
i'm just gonna ask where they're going,
and hook up with them later.

support worker
Hi hun
I dont really know what you should do, but do you have a psychiatrist.
I dont think going on about the police is very helpful you and your situation, and i not suprised your under threat when they keep making these references.
If you have a psych can you talk to him about how your feeling with this support worker.
I asked mine to refer me to MIND and they have got really good support workers who are very easy to talk to.
I would go as far as to say that maybe cause your young they arent really listening to you like they should, its very easy for older people in positions of authority to feel as though they know better than you.
Dont be afraid to ask and demand what you need.

Hiya =)
If I was you, I would go see her supervisor/team leader and request a change of support worker. Or if you feel comfortable enough, explain how you feel to them and you would like a change.
It is your health and care. You have a right to say what treatment you want, who you wish to 'treat' you, and who you feel comfortable talking to.
If you feel like your not being listened to, after trying to organise a change, could you ask your GP or, if you have one, your therapist to write a letter explaining your feeling as if your supporter isn't quite the right one for you.
You are quite within your rights to want, and to have, the best care possible.
Take care,
Jen xx

I'm worried that I may be holding her to high expectations as my previous one was great. But I had to change as all the teams were changed here. Shame as she was really good.
I am thinking that she isn't doing me anygood though. She is rather negative.
I'm trying to figure out whether to tell her to herself or to ask her manager. Not sure which is best.
