I am currently:
Feeling like no meds work and hopeless

I have been on meds including SSRI’s and atypical antidepressants throughout my childhood, trying Prozac, Zoloft, Wellbutrin, and Lexapro, (all at the highest dose I could take for my age/BMI) but I feel like nothing has really helped me so far.
I was taken to the Psychiatric ward in the ER for the night to get a Psych evaluation about 5 months ago, and the crisis team admitted me to partial hospitalization that I went to for over a month. The Psychiatrist who worked there upped my Zoloft prescription to 300 milligrams, causing me to be very erratic and jumpy/overstimulated and left me feeling like my adrenaline was constantly pumping, and that my mind was racing faster than it ever has.

This has left me feeling kind of hopeless, like nothing I am trying to take to improve my mental health is working. I am now consulting with my general therapist about this, and we recently changed my meds. I feel like I am starting to feel a little bit better, but I am afraid to get my hopes up incase they end up not working again.
Has anyone else gone though this? If so, any advice would be appreciated :)

I think it can be complicated to be on meds when you're younger, because the way your body will change and develop will also impact the efficacy. I *think* maybe you're in the US based on some of your wording, and I wonder if you could ask your providers about the possibility of genetic testing to figure out what meds might work best for you? I don't actually know if there's an age requirement for it, but it might be worth asking to find out.

Hopefully the change in meds will be helpful and it's not just false hope though.

Please do not give me virtual hugs unless you are only using the hug function on threads. Thanks.

You can't always keep it separate.
This is happening, this is part of you.

Finding a med that works for you can be really hard. There is a lot of trial and error and sometimes you may have to change meds if your current one is no longer helpful for you.

I believe that everyone has the ability to recover and get to a place where you can be happy and content in life. Just take it day by day and don't give up. I know its much easier said than done but as long as you keep on trying you cannot fail! Hang in there.
