General Medical Question - Non Urgent - Rattly/ wheezy chest

Ok for the past few days ive had this horrible cough and ever time i breathe out im wheezy and my chest makes that rattling sound and when i cought. Im asthmatic so have tried my ventalin numerous times and anti histamine which doesnt improve it. Its not very painful and isnt causing respiratory distress as my asthma gets in the way enough anyway so doing exercise etc hasnt made it worse apart from it makes me cough alot (which i dont normally get with asthma attacks). So its not like debilitating but its irritating and sounds bad now this started after i saw my grandad in hospital on sunday he is critically ill with double neumonia i didnt think i could catch anything as at the time he was comatosed and having oxygen but the day after is when it started and its not a hayfeaver reaction. And i dont know if its relevant but the other week i had measels which was only diagnosed after the rash came out (not the fatal bit but where the rash comes out to make you better) and i recovered well after feeling really poorly for a few days. So could it be an after math? Im also sleeping very badly so i dont know if im just vulnerable to bugs at the minute.. so do i go to the doctor or do i leave it?

I would go to the doctor because they can tell you what it is and give you something to clear it up if needed. hope you feel better

I left my cough and wheeze for 2 weeks and ended up with pneumonia which I have had for 4 weeks now. I ended up in hospital, on a nebuliser and oxygen. I am asthmatic as well. Im still sick with it now.

Go to see your GP and get yourself checked out tommorow.

Thanks insidemyhead. Hope you feel better soon too. Geez, you're a lucky sod to have a GP practice that opens on a Saturday! Mine, you practically have to know you're gonna be ill a week in advance! lol!
