I'm thinking either on my thigh/hip area or maybe my foot... I'm leaning towards my thigh

Personally, I think it would look better on the inside of your hip or the side of your foot due to it being quite small and would probably look unfinished or out of place on your thigh.
Just my 2 cents.

This weekend I'm buying some carbon paper and I'm going to exsperment with placement. I really like the idea of it being on the hip because that's where I use to SI. It's got alot of deep meaning to me and I want to repsent something important.

"Just a regular elephant tattoo still has deep meaning. In India, the elephant is a symbol of power, patience, wisdom, success, prosperity, and benevolence. Ironically, elephants are also a symbol of both chastity and great sexual energy. And, though elephants appear heavy and clumsy, their image is also symbolic of both clouds and gracefulness. The Hmong have similar interpretations, and admonish people not to insult elephants; to do so could lead to destruction of property."

Love this meaning behind it. I have 3 tattoos and none of them have any meaning - but I wish they did!
^ You could always think up a meaning for them now?
Some of mine, that I have had for a while, have only just got other meanings that I have realised recently. Like, as well as being lines from my favourite songs, they now mean more than just that. I dunno, it's odd. I really did not explain that well so I hope that you get what I mean!

the 'I am free' could look quite cool across your wrist but I'm always dubious about tattoo's like that... What happens if you are, in the future, no longer free from whatever you are currently free from?
I'm free from being trafficked. I don't want to get anything on my wrist because it could affect my job offers.

I really like both designs, they both have such symbolism. I think they will look great wherever you have them! And the meaning behind the elephant is quite beautiful.
"I want to be magic. I want to touch the heart of the world and make it smile. I want to be a friend of elves and live in a tree. Or under a hill. I want to marry a moonbeam and hear the stars sing. I don’t want to pretend at magic anymore. I want to be magic."
