An idea that came to mind as I was reading this thread, that you can either take or leave ....
-> When this abbreviation list gets posted, it may be helpful to add some sort of a blurb to the post either before or after the abbreviation lists, to suggest to members that making the effort to write out the FULL WORDS instead of using too many abbreviations, is probably worth the slightly extra time and energy it takes as it makes their posts alot more easily understood by everyone, regardless of whether they are familiar with the abbreviations or not.
i think generally they mean sexual abuse (that's a good one to add to the list; nice one!) but then i never really venture into the substance abuse forum so maybe they use it for substance abuse there.
SA tends not to be used in substance abuse generally because people specify the substance thats being abused as substance abuse is an umbrella term :)
There are times to stay put, and what you want will come to you.

I think that is a fabulous idea personally.

I think A&E should be added for us USA users, and ER for anyone who doesn't know it.
also, GP (general practitioner) as I find it's also more common in the UK and when I first heard it on here had to ask someone what it meant.
