News
i stumbled across the News forum today (via the search for new posts function).
i just wondered if anyone could tell me why it doesn't appear in either the list of forums, or in the 'quick jump to' forum drop-down menu?
can we post replies there? there's a quick reply box, but none of the threads on page one have replies, and i didn't want to make myself look stupid by testing it out when i had nothing to say.

The news forum isn't supposed to be on the forum listings. I'm not sure there's particular reason - it might be just because it's not really related to the forums.
I'm pretty sure you can reply to them - or it would be set to no replies. I think the reason it has no replies is because nobody knows it's there - but the community team are trying to promote it more, so maybe the replies will pick up soon.

The news forum? Go to community, and it's second from bottom. Is that what you meant?
Oh, and the community team is a member scheme that works on the communtiy section. :)

yes, thank you. that's exactly what i meant.
i've only just joined v3, and haven't explored anything under the 'community' button yet. i was just a bit surprised to stumble cross a forum that wasn't listed under forums.
my, what a mine of useful information you are!

Yeah you can, but I havn't made anything of that bit yet because it isn't ready - currently posting a lot of non related rubbish.
I am in the process of finishing off that forum and will then link it to a proper forum, and it will house lots of discussions about current affairs, as well as post details of research projects, surveys etc that might be of interest.
