Medication for anxiety?
I have major anxiety and depression. I've tried Celexa (Citalopram), Zoloft (Sertraline), and Wellbutrin (Bupropion). I am still on the Wellbutrin, but after the SSRIs my anxiety is back and stifling!
Does anyone have suggestions? I know beta blockers help for certain ocassions, but any other ideas?
Thanks.

I don't think it would be appropriate for me to suggest a medication to you because I'm not a psychiatrist and I don't know your medical history etc. But I recommend you check out crazymeds. It has really good guides to almost all psych meds. Some of the newer or more rare drugs might not be on there but it should be a start. I hope that helps.

You need to speak to your doctor about it, but another option could be buspirone (buspar).

I agree you need to discuss your options with a doctor. The most effective medication I've taken for anxiety is Diazepam but it can only be taken short term because of the strong addictive quality.

I think it will be best you talk to your dr about this as others have suggested... like most medications it is a trial and error thing to find the med that works best for you as we are all very different and what works for one person well may not be the best for the person standing next to us!
I hope you find something that works for you soon.
*hugs*

Good point. CBT pretty much got rid of my anxiety disorder without me taking medication. And it works fast, too.

I've always had a PRN benzo of some description alongside my antidepressants for extra help with anxiety. I've had clonazepam (helpful for everyday situations) and diazepam (been great for exams and really stressful big problems).
CBT is also really great. There's a site (I don't know if I'm allowed to link/mention it here) that does online CBT that I've been finding really good while I'm waiting for "real" CBT. PM me if you want any details about it.

That's the one. I'm actually finding it really effective. I just didn't know about posting links or names to stuff like that...

The RYL rules say that links are allowed so long as they don't contain anything which that break the RYL terms and conditions, and as long as it's relevant to people on RYL (i.e. websites for support, advice or information). If it's not relevant, Harley has to approve it first. There aren't any rules about mentioning the names of specific websites as long as they don't contain content which break the RYL terms and conditions. I would think that since moodGYM is for information and support and it's completely free and you don't have to give out any personal information, there's nothing wrong with mentioning it or linking to it but of course if an RYL moderator decides otherwise they will remove it.
