I am currently:
General Medical Question - Non Urgent - how muchh is to much

i "accidentaly" took too many of one of my tablets. So far all it has done is made my tummy hurt, made me sleepy and made me really hungery. Anyone know if i should be going to the ER for this?

ODs can affect people all in different ways. It is a good idea that you ring you local poisons control presuming you're not from the UK (the numbers are in one of our stickies, I think there is a link to them or something) (orNHS Direct, 0845 46 47 if you are from the UK) or go and get checked out.

Your symptoms may or may not be related but if you are getting them anyway even if it weren't for the OD it would be a good idea to get them checked out.

Also, no-one is allowed to answer on here how much is too much except for saying that "too much" is anything above YOUR prescribed dose (or the dose which aplies to you on the packet if it is an over the counter medication).

Well done for getting checked out. That takes strength whether you meant to do it or not; if you didn't then you worry about looking 'stupid' (but trust me I know a lot of people, including myself, who have forgotten they've taken pills and then took another dose and realised later). And if you did do it purposely it's worrying because you start to think how others will react etc. So like I said, it's great that you had the strength and got yourself checked out.
