Thursday is when I get videotaped and interviewed about what my step-cousin did to me. I am really nervous what if they ask a question and I don't remember that part that happened? I know I will most likely be relieved afterwards but I'm still really really nervous.

hi darling. you will be okay. i had to give a video testimony when i was 6 or 7 years old and i was very nervous. they asked me how long he touched me (like per 'time') and told me to put my hand on the arm rest for the amount of time he touched me. i wasn't sure, so i just put it there and left it there. this got the point across fine to them though because it told them that it wasn't just a very quick moment. u know?
that is the only question that i remember clearly because this was like 15 years ago or so.
but basically my point is, just tell them the truth. tell them what you know. if you can't remember something, tell them so! you can only do your best, and nothing more...remember that! and remind yourself this when you go in to do it. if you're not confident when you do it, don't act like you are. be sincere. be real. this will get the best results and will give your case a sturdy ground.
these people who make/watch the video know that you are scared. they see it every day. they know what nerves can do to people.
not to mention, there are thousands of cases where women forget something that happened, simply because they dissociated when it took place. this is more than common, it's practically the norm.
i'm not sure what your story is but i hope and pray that it has a happy ending. please give us an update asap after you do this!
i'm so proud of you! this is a huge leap and it will make you stronger!
i really do believe that you will be just fine. you will be okay. you will be well.

That's great you did that! It's really really brave and I'm sure you'll feel better about what hapepned now that you've defended yourself this way. *hugs*
