Gah not sure if this is real?

Right, this is going to sound really silly
but I'm pretty sure my flat is haunted

Things keep moving of there own accord
There are weird smells everywhere
I keep seeing weird flashes of light everywhere
I'm sure there are shadows moving

ah, just crazy stuff like this

The thing is I'm with the Early Intervention in Pychosis team
I hear voices and hallucinate and stuff like that

In passing I told my CPN about how I think my place is haunted
and I swear she looked at me like I was crazy

Am I imagining this? Is this the pychosis?
I hate to think that nothing is real anymore?
True nobody else I know thinks my place is haunted, they can't smell anything or see anything moving

So is this part of my illness? Or am I right, feel like I'm right
Don't think this is fake, I think this is real

Feel like I'm going crazy because nobody believes me
Sorry this is stupid

It's a difficult one to be honest.
Because there are a fair few people who believe they have seen a ghost who don't have a diagnosis of psychosis.
But then because you are already prone to hallucinations it coudl be a continuation of your illness.

Perhaps next time you think something paranormal is happening you could invite a friend over to see if they experience it too?

Remember that lots of people think they see shadows moving and get creeped out. The flashes of light could be due to powersurges and possibly the smells are your neighbours cooking. So there could be rational explanations behind it all.

I would try not to worry about it though, most people who believe in ghosts believe that they are perfectly harmless. I would discuss it with your team in more detail though as they may have some better insight into wether it is psychosis or not.

i have had these same experiences and still do intermittently. the flashes of light and shadows tend to happen more often when i am sleep deprived (even slightly) or agitated/anxious. things moving may have been when i was slightly dissociated too. i am still unsure as to whether they are a part of psychosis or "poltergeists".

however they do seem to occur at the beginning of my mental state worsening, so it might be part of illness for both of us?

keep talking to your professional folks :)

I believe you because the same things are happening to me
I see God talking to me and I can smell things too
But please dont worry about it as its the psychosis
maybe you need to tell your cpn again

Nobody else can see it though, which is making me think that It's just me being crazy :-/

Don't want to speak to my CPN about it in case she thinks I'm going worse or anything :-S

Think I'll just ignore it in case my imagination is just going into overdrive
I might just be making a big deal over nothing

It might be an idea to discuss it with them
Although it could be psychosis, it could also be you having a healthy imagination & there is always a chance you're place could be haunted (although i take that with a pinch of salt).

if It doesn't feel like psychosis then it could just be your imagination, try not to wrry too much about it, but definatly bring it up.

if it worries you, i think i might be worth talking to your CPN about it. on the other hand lots of people believe places are haunted who don't have psychosis (i personally don't believe in hauntings so i'm not a good judge of what's normal or not withing that frame). but yeah, talk about it, they might eb able to help you with any worries.

I can't be sure but it could be your illness.

PM me if you want a PDF copy of the ICD-10 or the Mental Health Act 1983/2007. I ALSO HAVE THE DSM-V BOOK and am a pharmacology student.

I have a visual impairment / neurological problems so I need people to type in clear text and no funny fonts. Also excuse any typos, my vision blocks things out.
I have autism and have problems communicating, PMs included.
Just becasue I type well doesn't mean I speak well. I am only part time verbal.
