Here’s just something I found online, I didn’t write them, but wanted to share as I know so many of us are struggling a lot right now *group squish*
Recovery is like a stone pathway.
As you walk you lay down stones.
For every time you eat a meal, every time you refuse to purge, every day you don't weigh yourself, and for every thing you learn about how to fight/beat your ED, you lay down a stone.
If you decide to stop walking for a while (stop recovering) the stones you have laid down along the way are still there.
They do not disappear if you stop on the path or completely leave it all together.
They will always be there for you to come back to whenever/ if ever you feel ready.
You don't have to start building the pathway all over again from the beginning.
Instead, you can look back, see how far you've come, and hopefully, looking at all the stones you've laid down before will encourage you to keep going and keep building the road.
& I’m sure many of us can apply the one below to how it feels to have an ED…and the two sides of it…the ‘good’ side can win though <3
One evening an old Cherokee was talking to his grandson about the battle that goes on inside of people.
He said, 'the battle is between two 'wolves' inside of us all.
One wolf is the vengeful, angry, violent one.
The other wolf is the loving, compassionate one.
The grandson asked him, 'Which wolf will win the fight in your heart?'
The grandfather answered, 'The one I feed.'
