I don't think it's a bad idea at all however I am currently struggling with lack of motivation so don't feel I can add anything useful

At work I find having a structured daily rota really really helps.

Yep, I think routine is the best thing.
If I don't go anywhere on my day off, I get so depressed.
If I'm kept busy I tend to be happier and more alert with what's going on and what I have to do.

Well content loves the silence, It thrives in the dark,
With fine winding tendrils, That strangle the heart,
They say that promises sweeten the blow, But I don't need them,
No, I don't need them...

Making to do lists and working to a timetable with breaks.

PM me if you want a PDF copy of the ICD-10 or the Mental Health Act 1983/2007. I ALSO HAVE THE DSM-V BOOK and am a pharmacology student.

I have a visual impairment / neurological problems so I need people to type in clear text and no funny fonts. Also excuse any typos, my vision blocks things out.
I have autism and have problems communicating, PMs included.
Just becasue I type well doesn't mean I speak well. I am only part time verbal.

To do list and routines help with motivation. I find for concentration I keep at least two things on the go. When my concentration flails on one I can switch to the other and still get stuffs done.

Break things down into manageable chunks and treat yourself for a moment after completing whatever that was. Have a rest and then go back to the next part of your task. I.e, if you have an essay then rather than thinking you have an essay to write then look at it as an introduction for the essay to be written. This may not work for everyone though it is adequate for my style of thinking and learning.

Also, when I was younger I found that reading books which were of higher reading than my capabilities helped me improve my concentration span. And I stayed away from things such as television and computer games because they always just made things worse for me.

I hope that's some help to someone. (:

Not being near an internet connection while I'm working, i.e. having the computer off.

This isn't a tip but I agree that a structure really helps, it's something I almost totally lack which makes it hard to be motivated as there's rarely anything to be motivated for.

im struggling to write an essay at the moment..
im trying splitting it into little chunks and lots of breaks.
i think the lack of motivation may be another reason for my lack of concentration
any ideas how to stop the mind wandering off every few minutes?
