Okay, well, I need help/advice on how to cover my cuts.
See, I kinda lost it yesterday and began slashing my arms and legs, and I realized that I have Gym tomorrow at school and we /have/ to wear short-sleeved shirts and short gym pants.
The cuts are obviously noticeable, and I'm terrified of someone asking me or telling the councilor or teacher about them.
I don't know what to do, I really don't want the councilor telling my parents, because I know how disappointed they would be...
Anyways, can someone please help me with any advice or anything, please?
(Kinda urgent...)
Have you treated the cuts at all? I think that'd be the first thing to do... to prevent infection and whatnot.
Sometimes if I have several cuts, I cover a few of them up with bandages; so I don't have band-aids all over my body, but I also don't have a whole bunch of cuts showing. Relatively fresh ones are difficult to hide though :/ I wouldn't really suggest putting make up on them for more infection reasons... wish I could give some more advice.
I hope you're doing alright! Always feel free to send a PM if you need to talk
*hugs and love*

We are male and female. We are artists, athletes, and students. We have depression, PTSD, eating disorders, bipolar disorder, or maybe no diagnosis at all. Some of us were abused, some not. We come from all walks of life and can be any age. We are every race or religion that you can think of. Our common link is this: We are in pain. We self-injure. And we are not freaks.
even if your parents are disappointed, they'd probably want to know so that they can help you through this. most parents don't want their children to be suffering and hurting on their own, because they want to protect their parents. thats definately how mine were. i was so so scared of them knowing and thinking that they wouldn't be able to handle it, but they turned out much stronger and more resiliant and helpful than i expected.
i'm not sure how you really could hide them...... i guess you could say that you're unprepared (don't know if thats a viable excuse the way that your school does gym)....
this is my magical medicine cabinet. Left to right they contain: courage, hope, calmness, and strength.
The magical part: They NEVER run out, so borrow some any time you want.
The one time I had trouble with that, I wrapped the entire area with surgical bandage and made it appear I had a sprained wrist or something like that for a couple weeks. I'm pretty sure you could get away with that for an elbow, too.

That's true and could work, but where would I get the surgical bandage from, exactly? =/
And Lonely_Hope, the bandages isn't actually a bad idea!
I keep a first aid kit in my room and I know that there is one of those goliath bandages in there, and that just might work for my arm. =D
As for my leg...Idk... o3o

if you have skin colored panty hose (assuming you a female or at least a desperate male) you could keep those under your gym shorts. of course you should have a bandage or at least have the wound well cleaned bit this could make it a bit less noticble. you can always say your going somewhere nice later and dont have time to change. (again if you are female or have a flamboyant personality. srry if that doesnt help.

Any drug store, or maybe if you have a linen closet?
This stuff.
And there's always, of course, the option of taking it on the chin and just not wearing short sleeves. Dealing with losing half a day or a day of points, etc. It sucks, but .. eh.
Mm... well, treat them first for sure. And maybe it's a good thing your parents find out. They might be able to give you the extra support you need in recovery.
The best I have is treat the wounds, put bandges on them and wear leggings and a short sleeved shirt beneath your uniform. I dunno if that would be acceptable in your school, but I figured I'd suggest it anyway.
i have scars mostly on my stomach, so i wear a cami when i have gym. But on my arms...I draw on the scars. It covers them up, if they aren't new. For the new ones, i would simply put a bandaid on the open ones that wouldn't be safe to draw on and make up some story about falling or something..don't use to many bandaids. And if you need to just use a jacket..or until the wound heal..I fully understand your concern..it's hard, and it will be until the scars fade..I wasn't careful hiding my scars and someone saw and told a teacher..it will always be a constant struggle..To write love on her arms? take it LITERALLY and draw on your scars..message me if you ever wanna talk, i'm here
Thanks for all your help, guys.
I just wore a large band aid for my wrist and used a couple on my legs, and I just told my friend I fell on a curb when she asked. =P
But thanks for all the suggestions, it comforts me in a way.
I really do appreciate all your help, very much. c:
