I am currently:
Not satisfied with therapy

Hey guys! I know I haven't been around lately, but I managed to survive school with good grades.

Since being out of that toxic environment called school, I've been feeling much better.

But I'm not completely happy though. I still feel bad about myself. I have alot of deep issues that I haven't addressed. I just don't feel comfortable with my therapist. I want to try group therapy, but I can't find anywhere to go.

On a good note, I have a very special friend now :3 He makes me very happy.

First of all, very well done with getting through school and i'm glad that you feel things are better now that you have left. Are there any other therapists who you could see instead of your current therapist? Therapists are people just like the rest of us so of course there will be some of them who you don't get on with and others who you get on with well. What is it about your therapist that makes you feel uncomfortable? Perhaps you could discuss it with him/her or with the person who referred you to them if that is the case.

If there are issues that you would like addressed it is important that you let someone know what they are. People aren't mind readers and rely on you to tell them what you would like to discuss and what you think might be beneficial. If you are finding one to one therapy difficult then group therapy might be more problematic for you. In some groups everyone gives their views individually and it can be daunting to have everyone looking at you. Many groups require you to be referred to them via your GP or therapist and before doing that they would need to see why it would be helpful for you.

There might be some self help groups around that you could join though. Have you tried asking your GP or looking online? If you live in a small area it might be that there are no groups around or that there is a long waiting list. What sort of group is it that you would like to go to? There are various types of groups such as self esteem and assertiveness groups.

I hope that you can get this sorted and things continue to get better for you. Please get in touch any time. Take care.
