Purple Cuts??

I cut my leg a while ago, and I've scratched it many times. I was just looking over them today, and I noticed that some of my older cuts are a bit Light purple around the edges. There is no discharge. (Also, I dont want to tell my mum if there infected) She knows I cut my arms, but not my legs. Is this normal. (Also, How can I fade red lines after a cut has healed and there is no scab, just red marks where the cut is??)
Thanks

Some of my scars were a bit purple a while ago, but they turned out ok, i dunno if its normal but i think it probably is.

Umm as for reducing scars, try using bio oil or cocoa butter, or something similar. Theres info about scar reduction floating around here somewhere.

purple around the edges of healing wounds is normal.. if its red and puffy or warm, then it could be infected. And the purple/red/pink color to scars goes away with time, and as others have said scar creams and treatments help.. but they do take a long time to go away.

The purple round the edge will be the scar tissue forming, it's nothing to worry about and completely normal. It won't be purple for ever, and as stated you can get scar treatment gels, creams and pads that help fade them.

Since your question about the purple has been answered, I'm going to move this to SI discussion where you can get advice on scar reduction.

Well it breaks my heart to see you this way,
The beauty in life, where's it gone?
And somebody told me you were doing okay,
Somehow I guess they were wrong.
