just told my mum
Hey i've just told my mum that i have depression and have done since october -it was so hard, she was supportive though and she was so worried and upset i dont want her to feel like this -how can i assure her im ok? that im living with it but i can just about cope? She wanted to come and see me now but i told her not to it isnt fair. I just dont know if that was the worst or best thing i could have done. I just cant stop crying now.

aw, I understand how difficult it can feel. You've done such a brave thing talking about how you feel to your mum, that is never easy, especially when you're feeling particulary vulnerable. It's great that she is being understanding. It's natural that she may want to give you some extra support or visit you. May be if you try and let her know that you appreciate support but dont want her to be over protective, she'll hopefully understand that.

That was so brave of you hun. I'm really proud of you  .
I'm sure she understands that you're okay, that you've survived this long with it. It's natural that she's worried, but she'll be okay. Just make sure she knows you're getting a lot of help and support from people, and your consellor.
